  • Fan
    Patent number: 9670932
Abstract: In a fan, a housing includes decreased thickness portions and increased thickness portions arranged alternately in a circumferential direction. A distance between a central axis and an edge increases from an air inlet toward an air outlet. An inner circumferential surface has a minimum radius smaller than a distance between the central axis and an outermost portion of the edge. At a boundary between upper and lower housing portions of the housing, the inner circumferential surface has a radius greater than the distance between the central axis and the outermost portion of the edge. The increased thickness portions include component fastening structures defining a fastening structure arranged to fit the upper and lower housing portions to each other.

  • Fan
    Patent number: 9062567
Abstract: A fan includes a stationary portion, a rotating portion, and a plurality of blades. The stationary portion includes a stator, an integral one-piece molded metal bearing housing, a bearing portion in the bearing housing, and a molded resin base portion supporting the bearing housing. The rotating portion includes a rotor holder, a rotor magnet, and a shaft. The bearing housing includes a cylindrical portion, and a protruding portion extending radially outwards from a lower portion of the cylindrical portion. The cylindrical portion includes a groove portion extending in an axial direction and arranged in a circumferential direction. The groove portion is joined to a region on the lower side of the protruding portion along a connecting position between the cylindrical and protruding portions. A resin on an upper side of the protruding portion, a resin on a lower side, and a resin in the groove portion are continuous.

  • Patent number: 8946948
Abstract: A motor includes a cover made of a resin material. The cover includes a first annular portion arranged to extend in an annular shape above coils, a side wall portion arranged to extend downward from an outer circumferential portion of the first annular portion, and a second annular portion arranged to extend radially outward or radially inward from a lower end portion of the side wall portion along an upper surface of a circuit board. The side wall portion is arranged to extend in an axial direction while filling in gaps between teeth on a radially inner side of radially outer end surfaces of the teeth. The coils are covered by the cover to be protected from dust, water droplets, etc. The radially outer end surfaces of the teeth are exposed from the cover, and are thus arranged to be in radial proximity to a rotor magnet.

  • Patent number: 8079801
Abstract: A serial axial fan unit includes first and second motors with their base portions, i.e., first and second base portions axially facing each other. A motor gap is arranged axially between the first and second base portions. An axial length of the motor gap is preferably in a range from approximately 0.3 mm to approximately 2.0 mm. This configuration reduces transmissions of vibration of each of the first and second motors to the other, thereby reducing vibration interference between the first and second motors.

  • Patent number: 7420304
Abstract: Bearing unit furnished with a bearing retaining part, the bearing retaining part formed from a single, seamless component and furnished with a cylindrical section disposed on the outer periphery of a sleeve of the bearing unit, and with a bottom section closing over the sleeve and the cylindrical section along their undersides. An attracting magnet is disposed on the bottom-section side of the bearing retainer, for magnetically attracting axis-wise the lower-end portion of a shaft of the bearing unit. A magnet holder, formed from a magnetic material, is disposed on the underside of the attracting magnet, with the magnet holder being attached to the bearing retainer.
