Abstract: An Internet telephone apparatus which is capable of processing an Internet connection to an Internet telephone or to personal computer communications without requiring the installation of an additional public line, so that a cost for extension of a line and maintenance of the extended line can be eliminated. This Internet telephone apparatus has an incoming call determination unit for determining, based on information in a call setting message from a user, generated when a call is originated, whether the call is an incoming call directed to an access server for controlling communications such as personal computer communications or the like or an incoming call directed to an Internet telephone control unit for controlling the Internet telephone.

Abstract: The invention aims at providing voice recognition apparatus which can perform training without a speaker being conscious thereof by utilizing the fact that the name of a distant party is frequently uttered at the beginning of conversation over telephone and increase the recognition ratio and recognition speed of the speaker dependent system as the speaker uses the voice recognition apparatus. The invention includes a voice recognition processor of the speaker independent system for comparing acoustic data obtained by splitting an input sound signal with a plurality of word acoustic data and detecting word acoustic data matching the split acoustic data, wherein the voice recognition processor sequentially compares word acoustic data generated from a phoneme model with acoustic data generated from a name uttered by the speaker, and stores the acoustic data identifier corresponding to the generated acoustic data, which match the word acoustic data, as a training signal.

Abstract: In an Internet telephone system, even though a user need not enter a user ID and a password, this internet telephone system can judge as to whether or not a telephone user is an authorized telephone user. To achieve this function, an Internet access point apparatus includes: a network interface unit functioning as an interface with a telephone line; a reception control unit for controlling the telephone line; a user data detecting unit for detecting user data and system data to thereby separate the user data from the system data; a calling telephone number detecting unit for detecting a calling telephone number sent via the telephone line to thereby recognize the telephone number of the telephone caller; an individual identifying unit for determining whether or not a telephone connection request is issued from an authorized telephone user on the basis of a detection result made by the calling telephone number detecting unit; and an output unit functioning as an interface with the Internet.

Abstract: A system for delivering electronic mail through the internet includes a CPU, a ROM for storing a program for controlling the system, a RAM for storing data and a caller telephone number, a display unit for interfacing with a display unit, an input unit for interfacing with an input device, a modem unit for converting analog data to be used by a telephone into digital data to be processed by a computer, and a network control unit for interfacing with a network, the network control unit also being capable of recognizing caller telephone numbers. The delivering system enables of the electronic mail through the use of the caller ID.

Abstract: A sample analyzer to detect elements in a gaseous residue generated in an extraction furnace. The sample analyzer introduces the gaseous residue into a detector to be analyzed. The sample analyzer employs a buffer vessel having a variable internal capacity disposed between the extraction furnace and the detector. The variable capacity buffer vessel provides the capability to accurately analyze samples having wide variations in the concentration of substances to be analyzed.
