  • Publication number: 20070140140
Abstract: A system and method for the distribution of digital media content makes use of a network control element to manage the fragmentation of the digital content and to distribute the fragments of the digital content to different endpoint elements in the network. The network control element responds to endpoint element requests for the digital media content by allowing the various endpoint elements to store the fragments of the digital media content and to transfer the fragments to the requesting endpoint element under the control of the network management element. This spreads the network traffic across the network and prevents the development of a single bottleneck in the distribution network.

  • Patent number: 7072357
Abstract: A single instruction, multiple data (SIMD) architecture for controlling the processing of plurality of data streams in a digital subscriber line (DSL) system has a memory for storing the data from the channels, a processor operatively coupled with the memory for processing data from the data streams, and a controller for controlling the processor. Storing the data in the memory de-couples the operating rate of the processor and the operating rate of the data streams.

  • Publication number: 20040208932
Abstract: A stabilized oral dosage form of an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) such as paroxetine hydrochloride for improving the stability of the said API prior to incorporating into an oral delivery system, and a process for preparation of free flowing granules of paroxetine hydrochloride obtained by coating them with moisture barrier pharmaceutical excipients.

  • Patent number: 6539016
Abstract: An asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL) termination unit, which at the transmission end includes a descrambler and a compressor between its scrambler and interleaver. The present invention provides for the use of compression on the data in a channel to remove some of the inherent redundancy, in order to yield much better throughput, particularly in conjunction with certain powerful forward error correction (FEC) schemes. In this manner the compression may be performed on unscrambled data that has a higher redundancy than scrambled data, thereby improving compression. At the reception end, the ADSL termination unit includes a decompressor and a scrambler between its deinterleaver and descrambler.

  • Publication number: 20020025309
Abstract: A stable fixed dose oral pharmaceutical formulation is provided. The formulation contains at least one anti-infective agent and at least one susceptible microorganism as active ingredients. At least one of the active ingredients is coated to provide a protective barrier around the active ingredient, the active ingredients being contained in a single pharmaceutical formulation. The formulation may be a tablet, a capsule, or a powder which may be made into a stable liquid. The protective barrier protectis the susceptible micro-organism from the effect of the anti-infective agent to maintain the susceptible micro-organism in a viable form for a period of at least three months. The anti-infective agent can be an antibiotic such as an amoxycillin and the microorganism can be Lactobacillus acidophilus.

  • Patent number: 6306391
Abstract: A process of making a stable fixed dose oral pharmaceutical formulation is provided. The formulation contains at least one anti-infective agent and at least one microorganism. The process involves a step of first coating the agent and/or the microorganism to provide a protective barrier around it. Next, the process involves a step of combining the agent and the microorganism into a single pharmaceutical formulation in the form of a capsule or a tablet. The barrier protects the microorganism from the effect of the anti-infective agent to maintain the microorganism in a viable form for a period of at least three months. The agent can be an antibiotic such as amoxycillin and the microorganism can be Lactobacillus acidophilus.
