Abstract: Provided are trigger safety devices for a gun configured to conveniently lock/unlock the trigger. Generally, the trigger safety device comprises a first component, a second component, means for releasably limiting the positions of the second component and an alarm module. The first component is attached to the barrel portion of a gun. The second component is either hingedly attached to the first component or slidably attached to the outer surface of the first component. The alarm module is disposed in the first component and is configured to alert a user when the trigger safety device is unlocked. In general, the alarm module comprises one or more sensors, a power supply, an alarm notice generator and a control system in electrical communication with the sensors, power supply and the alarm notice generator.

Abstract: A method and system are described for imaging core samples associated with a subsurface region. The imaging results may be used to create or update a subsurface model and using the subsurface model and/or imaging results in hydrocarbon operations. The imaging techniques may include NMR imaging and CT imaging. Further, the imaging techniques may also include exposing the core sample to the imaging gas.

Abstract: A system and method for temporal-based professional similarity are provided. In example embodiments, a request to identify, from among a plurality of member profiles of a social network service, a profile that is similar to a source profile, is received. Profile data of the source profile and a candidate profile are accessed from the social network service. Profile features are extracted from the profile data. The profile features include source features extracted from the profile data of the source profile and candidate features extracted from the profile data of the candidate profile. Respective profile features correspond to temporal data included in the profile data. Data structures are generated by structuring the profile features according to the temporal data. The data structures include a source data structure generated using the source features and a candidate data structure generated using the candidate features.

Abstract: Provided are external lens devices for a dual lens camera smart device. Generally, the external lens device comprises a lens holder, a plurality of lenses held within the lens holder and means for securing the lens holder over the dual lens camera smart device. Securing the lens holder to the dual lens camera may be effected by direct engagement of the lens holder with the dual lens camera or by a clip which when slid over the smart device positions the lens holder over the dual lens camera. Also provided are handheld camera systems with the dual lens camera smart device and the external lens device removably secured over the camera.

Abstract: A redundant device unit includes a first device connected with a field device via a first link and a second link in series. The first device, initially active in use, when active sends diagnostic information indicating whether there is a fault in the first link and/or the second link. A second device connected with the field device via the second link and a third link in series, initially passive in use, receives the first diagnostic information from the first device. When the first diagnostic information indicates that there is a fault in the first link and/or the second link, the first device switches to passive and the second device switches to active and generates second diagnostic information indicating whether there is a fault in the second link and/or the third link. A determination regarding the fault is made based on the first and second diagnostic information.

Abstract: Provided is a removable safety-locking device or safety clip for use with multifunctional tools in a car functioning as a cigarette lighter socket adapter, safety hammer and cutter. The safety-locking device has a flexible clip body that engages with the multifunctional tool to prevent accidental firing of the safety hammer or accidental injury or cutting by the cutter or blade. The flexible clip body has a substantially semicircular downwardly depending pair of arms and a knife-block formed at and extending from an apex of the pair of arms.

Abstract: In an example embodiment, a query for search results is received, the query including at least one value for one facet, a facet defining a categorical dimension for the search results. It is then determined that the facet in the query is exclusive. In response to the determination that the facet is exclusive: for each potential facet different from the facet in the query: for each potential value in the potential facet: conditional entropy gain of the value in the query and the potential value is determined. The potential value in the potential facet that has the highest conditional entropy gain is determined, as is the potential facet with the minimum maximum conditional entropy gain. Then the potential facet with the minimum maximum is input into a machine learning model, causing the machine learning model to output one or more suggested facets to add to the query.

Abstract: In an example embodiment, one or more sample ideal candidate member profiles in a social networking service are obtained, as well as one or more sample search result member profiles in the social networking service. Then, for each unique pair of sample ideal candidate member profile and sample search result member profile, a label is generated using a score generated from log information of the social networking service, the log information including records of communications between a searcher and members of the social networking service, the score being higher if the searcher communicated with both the member corresponding sample ideal candidate member profile and the member corresponding to the sample search result member profile in a same search session. The generated labels are fed into a machine learning algorithm to train a combined ranking model used to output ranking scores for search result member profiles.

Abstract: In an example embodiment, one or more ideal candidate member profiles in a social networking service are obtained. Then a search is performed on member profiles in the social networking service using a search query, returning one or more result member profiles. One or more query-based features are produced from the one or more result member profiles using the search query. One or more ideal candidate-based features are produced from the one or more result member profiles using the one or more ideal candidate member profiles. The one or more query-based features and the one or more ideal candidate-based features are input to a combined ranking model trained by a machine learning algorithm to output a ranking score for each of the one or more result member profiles. The one or more result member profiles are then ranked based on the ranking scores.

The system and method comprise determining values for characteristics of a present case, determining whether the present case is a special case based on the determined values, receiving input from a user verifying that the present case is the special case and saving the present case to a database containing a compilation of cases if the user verifies that the present case is the special case.

Abstract: A module has switchable operation states. A first switching unit switches the module between a first operation state and a second operation state. A first interface switches between sending signals to another module which has switchable operation states and receiving signals from the other module. The first interface sends a first signal to the other module when the module is in the first operation state, sends a second signal to the other module when the module is to be switched into the second operation state, and receives signals from the other module when the module is in the second operation state. A second interface communicates with the other module. When the second interface receives a response of the other module to the second signal, the first switching unit switches the module into the second operation state. The reliability of module switching is improved in an embodiment.

Abstract: Provided are foldable light softboxes for users to conveniently carry around. The softbox comprises a body portion, a set of flexible and foldable frames, means for switching the softbox between an unfolded state and a collapsed state, and means for fitting the softbox over light sources of different sizes. The body portion of the softbox comprises a front panel, a back panel and a strip of material that circumferentially attached to the front panel to the back panel. The flexible and foldable frames are attached along the circumferences of the front and back panels. The softbox can be folded to fit in a circular container, for example, a bag.

Abstract: Provided herein are devices for enhancing the quality of photo shooting using a camera integrated into a handheld smart device, such as a smartphone. An external lighting device comprises a base plate removably securable to a mount on the smart device, a connecting structure disposed at the edge of the top surface of the base plate and a ring-like turntable rotatably connected on the base plate via the connecting structure and a plurality of LED lights on the top surface of the turntable. When secured on the body of the smart device, the ring-like turntable rotates to a position where the LED lights surround the cameras to provide adjustable lighting. Further provided is a handheld camera system comprising a smart device, the external lighting device as described above and a protective case with a mount to attached to the lighting device.

The multifunctional tool comprises a body portion, a striking mechanism, means for adapting the electricity from the cigarette lighter socket, and blades disposed in a inner surface of the a hook-shaped structure. The tool can be used as an electricity adapter converting the electricity from the cigarette lighter socket into various outlet ports, such as USB ports or any other types of outlet ports or connectors for electronic devices. The striking mechanism enables the striking member in the tool to be shoot out with a high impact force, breaking objects such as a car window. The blade is used to cut objects such as a seat belt when the user is trapped in a car in an emergency.

Abstract: Provided herein are protection sheaths or stylus sheaths for a touch screen stylus. Generally, the protection sheath has top and bottom portions disposed around stylus and means for moving the stylus inside the protection sheath. A position-limiting ring and a tightening structure with a spring disposed on the top of the position-limiting ring may comprise the means by which to extend and to retract the stylus tip. The sheath may have a stop clip disposed through the top portion which works with a motion stop on the tightening structure to limit the motion of the stylus. Alternatively, the top and bottom portions may be threaded and the sheath may have a securing top and damper band to secure the stylus within the sheath.

In an embodiment of the invention, a method for dynamic activation of service indicators based upon service personnel proximity is provided. The method includes receiving at an enclosure of different hardware devices in a data center, a message for personnel proximity based activation of a service indicator lamp and activating a presence sensor in response to receiving the message. The method also includes responding to presence sensing an individual by the presence sensor by activating the service indicator lamp of the enclosure.
