  • Publication number: 20240155376
Abstract: A system for wireless data communication comprises first and second wireless networks. The first wireless network comprises nodes that receive and transmit wireless signals that exhibit a first frequency, wherein nodes of the first wireless network include first, second, and third repeater nodes. The second wireless network comprises nodes that receive and transmit wireless signals that exhibit a second frequency that is lower than the first frequency. The second wireless network is configured to serve as an overlay out-of-band control plane for the first wireless network. The third repeater node uses a digital IIR filter to recover and relay a data signal encoded by first and second wireless signals that are received by the third repeater node from the first and second repeater nodes. The first wireless network can be a current generation network (e.g., 5G) while the second wireless network can be a previous generation network (e.g., 4G).

  • Patent number: 10298463
Abstract: A communication network includes nodes. The nodes are capable of communicating over a current generation network, which will include 5G before long. One, some, or all of the nodes are also capable of communicating over a previous generation network, to which 4G will be relegated before long. A third node receives a first signal from a first node over the current generation network, a second signal that is a retransmission of the first signal from a second node over the current generation network, and network dimensional parameters from the first node and/or the second node over the previous generation network. The network dimensional parameters enable the third node to determine precise locations of the first node and the second node. Using a function of the network dimensional parameters, the third node can correlate the first signal and the second signal and generate a simplified signal therefrom.

  • Patent number: 8274495
Abstract: A touch screen that employs a lens-less linear IR sensor array and an IR light source from a single location at the periphery of the screen to illuminate one or more objects proximate to the screen surface and detect light reflected from such objects. The sensor array is paired with a proximal grid-like barrier/reflector to create Moiré patterns on the sensor array. Digital signal processing converts such patterns into discrete Fourier transforms. The peaks of the lower order discrete Fourier spectrum as well as the complex phases of the lower order peaks can be used to determine the locations of the objects proximal to the screen accurately. A small number of pressure or surface acoustic sensors at the periphery of the screen are utilized to improve positioning reliability by providing redundant positioning information and registering physical contacts with the screen.
