  • Publication number: 20030086550
Abstract: There are disclosed systems, apparatus and methods for rerouting telephony signals in the case of a front card failure, through the standby or redundant front cards, as well as standby or redundant rear cards. These redundant cards are coupled with through or bussed connections at connection areas assembled with connectors P2/rP2 (of the Compact PCI® Standard) This allows the standby or redundant front card, to operate in place of the failed front card, using the corresponding rear card.

  • Publication number: 20030018472
Abstract: A vocoder based voice recognizer recognizes a spoken word using linear prediction coding (LPC) based, vocoder data without completely reconstructing the voice data. The recognizer generates at least one energy estimate per frame of the vocoder data and searches for word boundaries in the vocoder data using the associated energy estimates. If a word is found, the LPC word parameters are extracted from the vocoder data associated with the word and recognition features are calculated from the extracted LPC word parameters. Finally, the recognition features are matched with previously stored recognition features of other words, thereby to recognize the spoken word.

  • Publication number: 20010047257
Abstract: A method of assigning a similarity score representative of a similarity between a first speech signal and a second speech signal. The method includes generating a signal transformation responsive to both the first and second signals, determining a transformation score based on at least one characteristic of the generated transformation and calculating the similarity score as a function of the transformation score.
