  • Patent number: 9322548
Abstract: A combustor applied in thermophotovoltaic system comprises a combustion device and a reversed tube covering the combustion device. The combustion device includes a combustion body made of a transparent and temperature resistant material and a burning unit disposed in the combustion body. When a burning-supported medium is adopted during burning via the burning unit, the radiant intensity is increased. The reversed tube then further redirects the hot product gas for reheating an outer wall of the combustion body in combustion. Therefore, uniform illumination is accordingly resulted for enhancing the radiant intensity. Accordingly, a photovoltaic cell plate connected to the combustor preferably transforms light into electricity. The present invention fully utilizes a micro system as well as miniature energy to offer advanced electricity.

  • Publication number: 20130153010
Abstract: A combustor for thermaophotovoltaic power systems includes a chamber body pervious to light and a metal porous medium as well as an emitter tube disposed inside the chamber body, respectively. By using a mixed liquid fuel to penetrate through the porous medium to form a fuel-film on the surface thereof and injecting the air into the chamber body, the contact surface of the fuel and the air is increased for promoting the thermal conduction and thoroughly vaporizing the liquid fuel to attain the flame stabilization. Further, the material of metal carbonyl can be added into the liquid fuel to efficiently increase the intensity of the flame luminescence after the burning reaction, and the radiation of the emitter tube combines with the radiation of the flame luminescence to increase the luminosity and enhance the electricity conversion efficiency.

  • Publication number: 20100154297
Abstract: The present invention pertains to a liquid oxidizer of burner consisting of a hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and a dihydrogen monoxide (H2O, water) . Wherein the proportion of the H2O2 is 30˜100% and the proportion of the H2O is 0˜70%. Whereby, the oxidizer is added into the burner and is subjected to decomposition or catalysis by heating or a catalyst so that it could be transformed into heating steam and gaseous oxygen. Accordingly, the oxidizer possessing the high oxidization accelerates the burning speed of blazing wastes within the burner, and the wastes and firing would be efficiently burnt away. Therefore, the burning effect is advanced, and the emission of carbon monoxide, unburnt hydrocarbon (UHC), and pollutants are certainly decreased.

  • Patent number: 6700652
Abstract: The invention of a Low-Cost alternating color-pulse digital particle-image velocimetry DPIV (Digital Particle Image Velocimetry) system is proposed. In the proposed system Low-Cost basic equipments are used such as a continuous-wave laser in mixed mode, a CCD (Charge Couple Device) camera, a PMT (Photo-Multiplier Tube), an image-processing card, a PC (personal computer) etc., with an add-on alternating-color planar laser-sheet generating facility to achieve the purpose of DPIV (Digital Particle Image Velocimetry) of planar velocity measurements. With the add-on facility, the laser beam from the continuous-wave laser operated in mixed mode is turned into a planar laser sheet with alternating color at a designated frequency. The CCD (Charge Couple Device) camera captures the alternating-color images of the flow field seeded with small particles.

The images are then sent to a personal computer for analysis of the magnitude and direction of the velocity distribution of the flowfield.
