    Abstract: The invention is to provide a method for determining a recording power of a radiation beam for recording information onto a recording medium operated at a user-desired speed. According to a preferred embodiment of the method of the invention, under operation of multiple of test speeds in turn, multiple of optimum recording powers which each corresponds to one of the test speeds are determined, respectively. Then, a function of speed is generated by fitting the corresponding optimum recording powers vs. the test speeds. The recording power for the user-desired speed is calculated by applying the user-desired speed in the function of speed.
