  • Publication number: 20170180987
Abstract: A system, method, and non-transitory computer-readable medium for a combination wireless and smartcard login authentication is disclosed. The method discloses validating a smartcard to yield a validation and establishing, based on the validation, a wireless connection with a remote device. The method can further include receiving a smartcard passcode verifying the smartcard passcode to yield a verification, and authorizing, based on the verification and at the server, the remote device access to a baseboard management controller of the server.

  • Publication number: 20170111346
Abstract: Disclosed are systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for Bluetooth low energy (BLE) double authentication between a mobile device and server nodes. A system using BLE authentication can receive at a mobile device, an identifier of a dongle attached to a server that enables wireless communication and can establish a wireless low energy connection with the dongle without paring. The system can receive a server identifier and can determine whether the server has previously been authenticated to yield a determination. When the determination is that the server has not previously been authenticated, the system can receive a baseband management controller username and a password. When the determination is that the server has previously been authenticated, the system can determine whether to perform a double authentication to yield a second determination. The system can perform the double authentication when the second determination indicates that the double authentication should be performed.

  • Patent number: 9575925
Abstract: A rack server system and an auto-addressing method thereof are disclosed. The rack server system comprises a plurality of backplanes and a rack management controller (RMC). The backplanes comprise a plurality of inter-integrated circuit (I2C) switches. The RMC comprises an I2C channel connected to the backplanes. When the RMC initializes the backplanes, the RMC controls a plurality of reset signals to be an enable level to reset the I2C switches, and automatically addresses a plurality of different I2C device addresses to the I2C switches. The RMC changes the reset signals to be a disable level from the enable level after the RMC addressed the I2C switches.

  • Patent number: 9282072
Abstract: A service controller on a computing device can be configured to redirect serial output over a network using HTTP. For example, the service controller can be configured with a web server that can receive the serial output and stream the serial output to a web browser over an HTTP connection. In some implementations, the HTTP connection can be a WebSocket connection, as defined by the HTML5 specification. In some implementations, a proxy server can be configured with a web server that can receive serial over LAN (SOL) output from multiple servers and stream the SOL to a web browser on a client device.

  • Patent number: 7752429
Abstract: A computer system comprising an embedded system and a main computer system is provided. The embedded system comprises a memory device and a virtual firmware hub. The memory device is for storing a boot code of the main computer system. The virtual firmware hub is connected to the main computer system. The virtual firmware hub is for reading the boot code. As the main computer system is booted, the main computer system inputs a loading command to the virtual firmware hub. The virtual firmware hub reads the boot code stored in the memory device according to the loading command and outputs the boot code to the main computer system accordingly.

  • Publication number: 20080098354
Abstract: A modular management blade (MMB) system used to monitor the voltage, temperature and fan rotational speed in a blade server chassis is provided. The modular management blade system comprises a first modular management blade and a second modular management blade. The first modular management blade comprises a first memory unit used to store a first code. The second modular management blade is coupled to the first modular management blade through the first communication link. The second modular management blade comprises a communication link control unit and a second memory unit respectively used to receive an updating code package through the second communication link and store a second code. As the communication link control unit receives an updating code package, the first modular management blade and the second modular management blade respectively update the first code and the second code according to the updating code package.

  • Publication number: 20080071962
Abstract: A device connection method for connecting a host having a peripheral bus to a peripheral device by the peripheral bus is provided. Firstly, as the peripheral device is connected to a peripheral gateway, a first information signal is outputted through a communication link. Next, a virtual device is mapped to the peripheral device in response to the first information signal, wherein the virtual device is compactable with the peripheral bus. Afterwards, as the peripheral bus of the host is connected to the virtual device, a second information signal is outputted through the peripheral bus in response to the first information signal to inform the host of a connection event taking place at the virtual device, so that the host enables the peripheral bus to install the peripheral device through the virtual device, wherein the host is connected to the peripheral device through the peripheral bus and the communication link.
