Abstract: A liquid crystal display includes a substrate, a plurality of first subpixel electrodes disposed on the substrate, each of the first subpixel electrodes having a pair of bent edges substantially parallel to each other, a plurality of second subpixel electrodes disposed on the substrate, each of the second subpixel electrodes having a pair of bent edges substantially parallel to each other, each pair of the first and the second subpixel electrodes disposed in a first direction and forming a pixel electrode, and a common electrode facing a plurality of pixel electrodes including the pixel electrode, wherein the first and the second subpixel electrodes have different lengths in a second direction substantially perpendicular to the first direction.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display that includes a substrate; a plurality of gate lines formed on the substrate; a plurality of common electrodes formed on the substrate and made of a transparent material; a plurality of data lines intersecting the gate lines; a plurality of thin film transistors connected to the data lines and the gate lines; and a plurality of pixel electrodes connected to the thin film transistors and overlapping the common electrodes. The pixel electrodes include a first sub-pixel electrode separated by a distance from a second sub-pixel electrode.

Abstract: A display panel is provided. The display panel includes a substrate and a pixel electrode disposed on the substrate and having a pair of first primary edges facing each other and a pair of second primary edges connected to the first primary edges and facing each other, wherein the second primary edges include a plurality of protrusions of the pixel electrode having the shape of sawteeth.
