  • Publication number: 20050009559
Abstract: A method, apparatus and a computer readable record media storing instructions for executing the same method for interfacing among a hybrid type synchronous or asynchronous terminal to a core network in a next generation mobile telecommunications system. The hybrid type synchronous or asynchronous radio network determines the operating type of the core network when the core network has a connection thereto, and sends the determined core network operating type information and information related to the core network to the hybrid type synchronous or asynchronous terminal, thereby allowing the synchronous-or asynchronous terminal to smoothly perform a data interfacing operation with the core network.

  • Patent number: 6498933
Abstract: A method for transmitting data for inter-frequency/inter-system handover in an asynchronous UTRA mobile telecommunications system, wherein information incapable of being transmitted for an idle period is transmitted over a common channel in the case of the inter-frequency handover or inter-system handover, thereby increasing the quality of speech and more efficiently performing the handover. A base station assigns a common channel to a mobile station connected thereto if inter-frequency (inter-system) handover is requested by the mobile station. Then, the base station transmits information about the assigned common channel to the mobile station and determines whether a transmission frame is an idle frame. The base station transmits data to the mobile station over a dedicated channel if the transmission frame is not the idle frame and over both the dedicated channel and common channel if the transmission frame is the idle frame.

  • Publication number: 20020029142
Abstract: A method for vocoding in an ALL IP network including one or more circuit networks, one or more radio access networks and one or more packet networks includes the steps of: determining if a first vocoding algorithm of a sending terminal is the same as a second vocoding algorithm of a destination terminal; if the first vocoding algorithm is the same as the second vocoding algorithm, bypassing voice data from the sending terminal and transmitting the bypassed voice data to the destination terminal; if the first vocoding algorithm is not the same as the second vocoding algorithm, determining if the sending terminal is a mobile terminal; if the sending terminal is the mobile terminal, at a first radio access network (RAN) gateway coupled to the sending mobile terminal, vocoding the voice data at a data rate of the circuit network to thereby generate first vocoded data and transmitting the first vocoded data to a second RAN gateway coupled to a destination mobile terminal; and at the second RAN gateway, vocoding th

  • Publication number: 20010026541
Abstract: A method for performing a diversity and a handoff in All IP network is disclosed. The method for performing a handoff in All IP network includes the steps of: a) at a mobile station communicating with a first base transceiver station (BTS), determining whether a strength of a pilot signal from a second BTS is lager than a threshold value; b) if the strength of the pilot signal from the second BTS is lager than the threshold value, adding a handoff from the first BTS to the second BTS; c) communicating with the all IP network through the first BTS and the second BTS based on a diversity function; d) determining whether a strength of a pilot signal from the first BTS is smaller than the threshold value; e) if the strength of the pilot signal from the first BTS is smaller than the threshold value, requesting a handoff remove; and f) releasing a traffic channel between the MS and the first BTS.
