  • Patent number: 6167265
Abstract: A method of managing system faults which enables system operators to easily detect the state of all the systems constituting the Home Location Register (HLR). Even when several sites are added, resulting in different system configuration, the inventive method can be easily applied to such configuration by introducing a novel technique in which the system operator prepares the graphics configuration capable of modifying only the data file as desired on the basis of the previously prepared programs without necessitating the help of professional programers. The method enables reconfiguration to be separately applied to the sites irrespective of changes in the internal hardware and software structure, which results in the reduction of manpower and accordingly of the operating expenses.

  • Patent number: 5941950
Abstract: A computer network system includes a network program for establishing an inter-system communication between clients and the server by using a socket function. If a `bind ( )` system call results in failure in the course of making the inter-system communication by using the socket function, the `bind ( )` system call is retried after a lapse of a predetermined time. The predetermined time is a time determined based on a time delay in closing the abnormal socket.

  • Patent number: 5790135
Abstract: A process control method for a multiprocessing computer system is performed by executing a display process to display an initial state of general processes on a display terminal of the multiprocessing computer system. The general processes are then executed under the control of a control process. The display process transmits a state information inquiring message to the control process. A confirmation message indicating reception of the state information inquiring message is transmitted to the display process by the control process when the control process receives the state information inquiring message. A process state request message is transmitted to the general processes by the control process, so that only the general processes that are operating normally receive the process state request message. An answer message is transmitted to the control process by each of the general processes that are operating normally.
