  • Publication number: 20200329248
Abstract: An apparatus for video decoding includes processing circuitry. The processing circuitry decodes prediction information of a current block from a coded video bitstream. The prediction information is indicative of an intra block copy mode. The current block is one of a plurality of coding blocks in a coding tree block (CTB) with a right to left coding order being allowed within the CTB. Further, the processing circuitry determines a block vector that points to a reference block in a same picture as the current block and checks that two corner samples of the reference block of the reference block have been reconstructed. In addition, the processing circuitry checks that an additional sample of the reference block has been reconstructed. Then, the processing circuitry reconstructs at least a sample of the current block based on reconstructed samples of the reference block that are retrieved from the reference sample memory.

The processing circuitry determines a block vector that points to a reference block in a same picture as the current block. Then, the processing circuitry ensures the reference block being buffered in a reference sample memory based on at least a determination that a sample that is right of a leftmost sample of the reference block is buffered in the reference sample memory. Further, the processing circuitry reconstructs at least a sample of the current block based on reconstructed samples of the reference block.

  • Patent number: 10091785
Abstract: Systems and methods for managing spectrum handoff with multimedia transmissions over cognitive radio networks are disclosed. The methods may include, for example, determining when a primary user is inactive on the one or more frequencies. The methods may also include assigning a secondary user to the one or more frequencies while the primary user is inactive and detecting return by the primary user to the one or more frequencies. The secondary user may, in one embodiment, be interrupted and one or more second frequencies that are inactive may be identified. Further, the secondary user may transition to the one or more second frequencies to resume transmission or reception.

  • Patent number: 10021426
Abstract: A cross-layer encoder for providing UEP encoding of video data configured to provide UEP encoding of video data at an application layer of a transmission channel by receiving video packets having first and second priority levels, applying first and second coding schemes to video packets having first and second priority levels, respectively, and transmitting video frames having first and second priority levels. The cross-layer encoder can be configured to provide UEP encoding of video data at a physical layer of the transmission channel by receiving encoded video frames having first and second priority levels, applying third and fourth coding schemes to video frames having first and second priority levels, respectively, and transmitting cross-layer encoded video frames having first and second priority levels. The first through fourth coding schemes can generate different percentages of the total coding overhead based on first and second priority levels, respectively.
