Abstract: A method for providing network-based services to a user of a network storage server, the associated network storage server and associated storage systems are provided. The method includes: associating the network storage server with a virtual machine running at a DR site; replicating data associated with the network-based services from the network storage server to the virtual machine; configuring a first DDNS setting of a DNS server, wherein the first DDNS setting is arranged to map a public domain name to a public IP address of the network storage server; configuring a first private DNS setting of a private DNS server, wherein the first private DNS setting is arranged to map a private domain name to a private network IP address of the network storage server. When the network storage server is in a non-working status, the network-based services are recovered to the virtual machine running on the DR site.

Abstract: A method for managing a storage system and an associated apparatus are provided. The method includes: providing at least one heartbeat monitoring path between a set of expander control circuits within an expansion module in the storage system, for transmitting at least one of a plurality of heartbeat monitoring signals for a set of management modules in the storage system, wherein the expansion module is utilized for installing a set of shared storage devices, and each shared storage device within the set of shared storage devices is coupled to the set of expander control circuits, to allow the set of management modules to control the set of shared storage devices through the set of expander control circuits, respectively; and performing heartbeat monitoring according to the plurality of heartbeat monitoring signals, for at least one of the set of management modules to perform high availability management on shared storage devices.

Abstract: A method for managing a storage system and an associated apparatus are provided, where the storage system includes a plurality of subsystems, the method is applied to a subsystem of the plurality of subsystems, and the subsystem is coupled to another subsystem of the plurality of subsystems through a coupling circuit. The method includes: utilizing a main circuit of the subsystem to obtain a characteristic parameter of the coupling circuit from the coupling circuit, in which a network module of the subsystem is coupled to the main circuit, and the network module is utilized for providing the main circuit with a network service; and according to the characteristic parameter, utilizing the main circuit to control the subsystem to exchange information with the other subsystem through the network module, to automatically establish the storage system as a high availability (HA) cluster.
