  • Publication number: 20130160144
Abstract: Among other things, one or more techniques and/or systems are provided for verifying an identity of an entity via a third-party authentication system. As an example, an entity may be logged into a website and may have certain access permissions given the manner within which the entity was logged into the website. The entity may attempt to access, via the website, protected data owned by the website and/or owned by a third-party (e.g., social networking website). If the access permissions presently associated with the entity do not allow the entity to access the protected data, a request may be made to the third-party authentication system (e.g., operated by the social networking website) to verify the identity of the entity before increasing the access permissions to grant the entity access to the protected data.

  • Patent number: 8373615
Abstract: A system for splitting a display zone of a screen is installed in an electronic device having a screen, and includes a detecting module for detecting screen pixels. A splitting processor receives a splitting instruction containing a splitting number n, and splits the display zone into a main display region and a number (n?1) of extension display regions. A total number of width pixels of adjacent ones of the main and extension display regions from left to right of the display zone equals the number of width pixels of the screen. A total number of height pixels of adjacent ones of the main and extension display regions from top to bottom of the display zone equals the number of height pixels of the screen. A display module displays two or more operating interfaces, files, and/or pages of at least one application in the main and extension display regions, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20130031106
Abstract: Automatic suggestion for search query formulation is facilitated by considering social network information. A plurality of search queries can be identified as a function of a partial search query specified by a user and search history of one or more social network contacts of the user. Subsequently, these identified queries can be ranked to aid determination of a subset of the identified queries to suggest for query completion. Further, query suggestions resulting from a social network contact can be annotated to set them apart from other query suggestions.

  • Patent number: 7970165
Abstract: System and method for digitally watermarking data. A preferred embodiment comprises a quantizer to limit a data value provided by a signal input to a set of values, a rounder unit coupled to the quantizer, a control unit coupled to the rounder unit and to a watermark input, and a multiplexer having a first input coupled to the rounder unit and a control input coupled to the control unit. The rounder unit rounds a quantized data value to a nearest integer, the control unit provides a control signal based on the rounded, quantized data value and a parity of a watermark provided by the watermark input, and the multiplexer selects between an output of the rounder unit, an incremented output of the counter unit, and a decremented output of the counter unit, based on the control signal provided by the control unit.

  • Patent number: 7943986
Abstract: A method for fabricating a Finfet device with body contacts and a device fabricated using the method are provided. In one example, a silicon-on-insulator substrate is provided. A T-shaped active region is defined in the silicon layer of the silicon-on-insulator substrate. A source region and a drain region form two ends of a cross bar of the T-shaped active region and a body contact region forms a leg of the T-shaped active region. A gate oxide layer is grown on the active region. A polysilicon layer is deposited overlying the gate oxide layer and patterned to form a gate, where an end of the gate partially overlies the body contact region to complete formation of a Finfet device with body contact.

  • Patent number: 7848581
Abstract: System and method for memory efficient decode and viewing of compressed image files. A preferred embodiment comprises a decoder coupled to a data input, a resize unit coupled to the decoder, a memory coupled to the resize unit, and a reorder data unit coupled to the memory. The decoder decompresses image data that is provided by the data input, while the resize unit resizes the decompressed image data from a first size to a second size. The memory stores the resized image data and the reorder data unit rearranges the image data into a format suitable for display. By resizing the image data prior to subsequent processing, memory requirements (such as storage space and bandwidth) are reduced.
