A switch is operable for moving the toothed wheel between the positions. A boss is formed on the handle. A groove is defined in the switch. The arrival at the first position is signaled by the contact of the boss with an end of the groove while the arrival at the second position is signaled by the contact of the boss with another end of the groove.

    Abstract: There is disclosed a selective one-way wrench with a device for retaining a socket. The selective one-way wrench includes a handle and a head formed at an end of the handle. The retaining device includes a cover installed on the head. Two parallel grooves are defined in the internal side of the cover. A stop is formed between the grooves. A shackle is put between the cover and the head. The shackle includes two slides sliding in the grooves. The shackle defines an opening larger than the socket. The shackle includes a retaining portion at a front end. An arched leaf spring is compressed between the shackle and the stop. Thus, the shackle is normally at a locking position and will be returned to the locking position after it is moved and released. Because of the above-mentioned design, the socket can easily be retained and released. As the slides slide in the grooves, the operation of the retaining device is smooth. Therefore, its lifecycle is long.

    Abstract: There is disclosed a selective one-way screwdriver and, more particularly, a selective one-way screwdriver that includes a long handle and can easily be operated. It includes an elongated handle formed with at least one head formed at an end. The head defines a space for receiving an annular gear formed with a toothed wheel portion on the external side. The annular gear includes a recess in an end in order to receive a bit. The head further defines a cavity near the handle and a channel between the cavity and the space. A switch is put in the cavity. In the channel are put two pawls one of which can selectively be engaged with the toothed wheel portion of the annular gear under the control of the switch. Thus, the handle can drive the annular gear in selective one of two directions. The length of the handle is perpendicular to the axis of the bit so that a user can easily use a small force in order to a large torque through the selective one-way screwdriver.
