Abstract: An optical device includes a freeform lightguide to direct light from a display to a region where a user's eye is expected to be positioned. The freeform lightguide includes a lightguide substrate with first and second opposing surfaces extending between a first end and a second end of the freeform lightguide, with at least the second surface being a freeform surface and being overlaid with a partial mirror layer. The first surface being overlaid with at least a quarter-wave plate layer and a polarization beam splitter layer. The freeform lightguide also includes an in-coupling interface proximate to the first end of the freeform lightguide to receive light from the display.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the user equipment (UE) may adjust an operational mode of a circuit of the UE by selecting one or more parameters (e.g., power level or clock frequency or both). Adjusting parameter values may result in avoiding increased temperature. The UE may set an operational mode of a circuit based on a determination or a prediction of a number of blind decodes to be performed, a number of pending receive packets, or a number of transmitting UEs from which the UE will receive traffic. The UE may efficiently reduce unnecessary power expenditures and decrease temperature.

Abstract: A cooking appliance is provided. The cooking appliance comprises a cooker body for receiving food and a lid for covering the cooker body. The cooking appliance has a front side for facilitating cooking operations and a rear side spaced apart from the front side. The cooker body comprises at least one latch slot disposed on an inclined rear side of the cooker body. The lid comprises at least one latch bar disposed on a periphery thereof and extending outwardly therefrom. When the lid is detached from the cooker body, the latch bar is operable to be inserted into the corresponding latch slot to secure the lid at the inclined rear side of the cooker body, allowing a user to secure the lid to the latch slot without reaching a rear side of the cooker body by hand, and to retrieve the food without accidentally contacting the lid.

Abstract: A magnetic suspension type sensing system for space full-degree-of-freedom absolute poses is provided. The system includes a reference platform, multiple quasi-zero stiffness supporting legs and a platform to be tested. The reference platform and the platform to be tested are connected in a spherical hinge mode through the multiple quasi-zero stiffness supporting legs. Each of the multiple quasi-zero stiffness supporting legs includes a lower end spherical hinge, a lower end cover, a positive stiffness unit, a negative stiffness unit, a shaft, a lower end shell, an upper end shell and an upper end spherical hinge.

Abstract: The disclosure provides a method for data instance processing. The method includes obtaining a set of data instances collected from a plurality of organizations. Each of the data instances includes at least one record formed in an organization that stores values of a plurality of attributes of the data instance. The method also includes dividing the set of data instances into groups, wherein data instances with conflicting values for the same attribute are divided into different groups. The method further includes subdividing data instances in each of the groups into clusters.

Abstract: An eyewear device includes a lightguide having a world-side surface and an eye-side surface, a display oriented to emit light toward the lightguide, and a beam steering element that includes a first polarization grating positioned along an optical path between the display. The first polarization grating diffracts light emitted by the display into orders having different polarizations and the orders are selectively conveyed into different eyeboxes. The eyewear device also includes a frame that supports the lightguide, the display, and the first polarization grating. In some cases, the different polarizations include a right circular polarization or a left circular polarization and the beam steering element includes a polarization dependent filter that filters right circularly polarized light in a first state and left circularly polarized light in a second state.

Abstract: A method, a system and a computer program product may evaluate reduction of disease risk. Patient data of a patient may be received. A selection of a disease outcome may be received. A risk score that the patient will experience the selected disease outcome may be determined. The determining may use the patient data. Intervention options may be generated based on the patient data and by accessing a medical record data structure. An intervention effect for each of the intervention options may be determined. The intervention effect may change the risk score. The intervention effects may be compared. A recommendation of at least one of the intervention options may be provided based on the comparing of the intervention effects.

Abstract: A computer implement method for domain adaptation. According to the method, training data from a target domain may be classified by using a group of source models of a source domain, where each of the source models is trained to classify data from the source domain. A first pseudo label indicating a category of the training data may be generated by aggregating classification results of the source models based on respective weights of the source models on predetermined data categories. A target model of the target domain may be trained based on the training data and the first pseudo label and the second pseudo label, where the target model is trained to classify data from the target domain.

Abstract: A head mounted display includes a combiner configured to receive display light from a micro-display. The world-facing surface of the combiner has a curvature that corresponds to a user's vision correction prescription. The head mounted display also includes a corrective layer having a second curvature that corresponds to the user's vision correction prescription. The corrective layer is disposed on the eye-facing surface of the combiner such that the focal point of the display light is adjusted for the specific user as the display light exits the combiner towards the user's eye.

Abstract: A head mounted display (HMD) system employs a holographic element in the optical path of the HMD to direct light to a user's eye. The HMD includes a micro-display, a lightguide, and a holographic element coupled to the lightguide. The holographic element is coupled to a polarization film, and together the element and film reflect and transmit light of different polarities in a specified pattern to assist the lightguide in directing light to the user's eye. For example, the hologram and polarization film can be configured to pass R-polarized light and reflect L-polarized light, thereby directing light from the waveguide along a specified path.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method for predicting a remaining useful life (RUL) of an aero-engine, specifically including: acquiring multidimensional degradation parameters of an aero-engine to be predicted to obtain acquired data; segmenting the acquired data by a sliding window (SW) to obtain preprocessed data; constructing a RUL prediction model of the aero-engine including a multibranch convolutional neural network (MBCNN) model, a multicellular bidirectional long short-term memory (MCBLSTM) model, a fully connected (FC) layer FC1, and a regression layer; taking the preprocessed data as input data of the MBCNN model, extracting an output of the MBCNN model, taking the output of the MBCNN model and recursive data as input data of the MCBLSTM model, and extracting an output of the MCBLSTM model; obtaining an output of the FC layer FC1, and inputting the output of the FC layer FC1 to the regression layer to predict a RUL.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide apparatus, methods, processing systems, and computer readable mediums for synchronizing a UE's timing for sidelink communications with one or more other UEs. The techniques may be used, for example, in NR V2X systems to maintain sidelink timing synchronization when a UE is outside the coverage area of a synchronization source such as a global navigation satellite system (GNSS).

Abstract: An air fryer comprises a main body and a lid assembly. The lid assembly is removable from the main body for placement on a countertop, and comprises a hot air assembly, an outer lid shell covering the hot air assembly, and a support member downwardly extending from the outer lid shell. Upon placing the lid assembly on the countertop, the support member elevates the lid assembly so that the hot air assembly is elevated at a height from the countertop, thereby avoiding burns on the countertop. Upon removal of the lid assembly from the main body, the lid assembly can be supported to the countertop by using a support leg portion of the support member, allowing convenient placement of the lid assembly. The support leg portion elevates the hot air assembly at a predetermined height from the countertop thereby protecting the countertop from burns.

The pressure cooking appliance comprises a cooker body and a lid, the lid comprising an upper lid portion, and a lower lid portion lockingly covering the cooker body to form a pressurized cooking chamber therebetween. The upper lid portion covers the lower lid portion from above, and comprises a main lid body and a removable cover, the main lid body comprising an opening portion formed at a central portion of the main lid body for exposing the lower lid portion, the removable cover being removably attachable to the opening portion and operable to expose a portion of the lower lid portion for accelerated cooling of the cooking chamber and speeding up wait time for opening the lid. Further, cooling towel or cooling pack can be placed at the opening portion to help with cooling and allow food to be enjoyed sooner.

Abstract: Features are disclosed for training and using named entity recognition models based on gazetteer information. A named entity recognition model can be trained with a gazetteer output at a layer of the model to provide deterministic data in the probabilistic model. The named entity recognition model can recognize named entities based on the word embedding and the gazetteer output. The named entity recognition model can tune the gazetteer output to include false positive name entities such that the gazetteer output is not deterministic of the output of the model. In some embodiments, the named entity recognition model can be tuned so as to adjust the gazetteer output.
