  • Publication number: 20050179833
Abstract: A backlight module is applied in a liquid crystal display with a first panel and an opposite second panel and is disposed between the two panels. The backlight module includes a light box, several light sources, a first optical device and a second optical device. The light box has a first side wall, an opposite second side wall and at least one supporting fixture, and the light sources are disposed therein. Both ends of each supporting fixture are connected to the first side wall and the second side wall respectively; each of the light sources is disposed between two adjacent supporting fixtures. The supporting fixtures disposed between the first optical device and the second optical device keeps the two devices spaced with a substantial equal distance where the two devices are disposed alongside a top surface and a bottom surface of the light box separately.

  • Publication number: 20050180142
Abstract: A backlight module and heat dissipation structure thereof. The heat dissipation structure is used for a backlight module which comprises a circuit board having a through hole with a light emitting diode (LED) corresponding thereto and disposed on one side of the circuit board. The heat dissipation structure comprises a heat conducting portion thermo-conductively connected to the LED and positioned in the through hole, a thermal conductive element disposed between the heat conducting portion and the LED, and a heat dissipating portion thermo-conductively connected to the heat conducting portion. Heat from the LED is conducted through the thermal conductive element and the heat conducting portion to the heat dissipation portion.

  • Publication number: 20050099806
Abstract: A direct type backlight module with better light source utilization and with heat-radiation performance is provided. The direct type backlight module includes a light source, a bazel and a reflecting sheet. The light source is disposed inside the bazel which includes at lease one run-through hole, while the reflecting sheet is disposed on the bazel for masking the run-through hole thereof. Of which, the heat generated by the light source is dissipated outside the bazel through the heat-dissipating hole of the reflecting sheet and through the run-through holes of the bazel in succession.

  • Publication number: 20050024891
Abstract: A direct backlight module. The backlight module includes a diffuser, a reflecting plate, a plurality of light sources and at least one transparent support. The reflecting plate connects to the diffuser and forms a chamber therebetween. The plurality of light sources are disposed in the chamber. The transparent support is disposed in the chamber to support the diffuser and the reflecting plate.

  • Publication number: 20040223319
Abstract: A back light module is provided. The back light module comprises a frame, a U-shaped lamp tube and a diffusion plate. The U-shaped lamp tube is set inside the frame. The U-shaped lamp has two electrodes that face the bottom section of the frame just underneath the lamp tube. The diffusion plate is also set inside the frame above the U-shaped lamp tube. Since the U-shaped lamp tube forms the light source of the back light module, the number of light tubes is only half of that of the conventional back light module having straight lamp tubes and hence the light energy required to illuminate the module is effectively reduced.
