  • Publication number: 20120203512
Abstract: A method of connecting three-dimensional structured meshes to form a conformal mesh, for solutions of flow problems, including: forming an interface by overlaying surfaces of two structured meshes; defining an interface set of mesh points in the interface; merging mesh points in the interface set that are within a predetermined distance of each other and projecting mesh points of one mesh in the interface that are within a predetermined distance of a line of the other mesh; generating an interface layer in the form of an unstructured mesh; and inserting a node at the centre of each hexahedra, and producing an unstructured layer of cells between the two structured meshes by joining the nodes to the mesh points of the interface layer.

  • Publication number: 20090149412
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for the treatment of heart failure through the use of small peptide complexes and recombinant proteins which function to enhance contractility in failing hearts and reduce blood pressure in individuals with hypertension by inhibiting the interaction between phospholamban and sacroplasmic reticulum Ca2+ ATPase (SERCA2a) within cardiomyocytes. In addition, a means is provided for the transport of such therapeutic agents into the cytoplasm and nucleus of cardiomyocytes.

  • Patent number: 6451594
Abstract: The present invention relates to a human type-5 recombinant adenovirus vector for achieving cardiac restricted transcription involving utilization of the cardiomyocyte-restricted cardiac ankyrin repeat protein (CARP) promoter with inclusion of the inverted terminal repeat sequences from human adeno-associated virus (AAV). Using green fluorescent protein (GFP) as a marker gene, the recombinant adenovirus vector (Ad/CG/ITR) is shown to direct transgene expression to myocardial tissue in vivo and in vitro in mouse models.
