Patent number: 10629047Abstract: The indoor location based emergency care communication method includes that a wearable carrier sends a start signal and an emergency care communication signal to a fixed penetrating transmission module and a fixed non-penetrating transmission module when a caretaker wearing the wearable carrier has an emergency. The fixed penetrating transmission module generates a position signal of the wearable carrier located at one of the indoor spaces and a distance signal according to a detected distance between the wearable carrier and the nearest fixed non-penetrating transmission module. A processing unit receives and analyzes the emergency care communication signal, azimuth signal and distance signal to generate a position signal to be sent to a communication device. A warning unit receives the position signal and drives the communication device to issue a warning, so that a caregiving staff can know that the caretaker needs immediate rescue.Type: GrantFiled: November 15, 2018Date of Patent: April 21, 2020Assignee: Southern Taiwan University of Science and TechnologyInventor: Yih-Ran Sheu

Publication number: 20130032425Abstract: The bicycle transmission device includes a hollow tube extending through the bottom bracket and two caps are connected to two ends of the hollow tube. A motor unit has two extensions and multiple fixing assemblies, wherein the extensions are positioned by the caps. The fixing assemblies fix the motor unit to the underside of the bicycle. A shaft extends through the hollow tube and a first one-way transmission device is connected to one end of the shaft. A chainwheel and a first passive wheel are connected to the other end of the transmission shaft. Two cranks are connected to two ends of the transmission shaft. A motor located in the motor unit and has a second passive wheel. The first and second passive wheels transmit energy via the belt. The present invention reduces the space required for the motor and balances the weight of the bicycle.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 25, 2012Publication date: February 7, 2013Applicant: NATIONAL CHENG KUNG UNIVERSITYInventors: SEN-YUNG LEE, YIH-RAN SHEU, YUNG-CHANG CHENG, JER-JIA SHEU, SHIH-WEN HSIAO, TING-WEI LIN, CHENG-CHE LIN

Patent number: 7809163Abstract: A method for prohibiting a person with a facial mask to operate an automatic teller machine essentially includes the followings steps of: a) arranging a visual spectrum camera and an alarm unit approaching an automatic teller machine (ATM); b) capturing a facial picture of an experimental subject via the camera; c) judging if the picture performs generic facial features of a human face; if false, proceed Step g); d) if true, a facial temperature of the subject is detected to gain a measured temperature; e) comparing the measured temperature with a predetermined reference temperature; if the measured temperature is not within the reference temperature range, a spurious human face is determined and Step g) goes on; f) if the measured temperature is within the reference temperature range, a genuine human face is determined and the ATM is allowably operated without proceeding Step g); and g) activating the alarm unit to transmit a warning signal without operating the ATM.Type: GrantFiled: April 6, 2009Date of Patent: October 5, 2010Assignee: Southern Taiwan UniversityInventor: Yih-Ran Sheu

Patent number: 7548776Abstract: A method and a system are disclosed for performing fever triage. At first, a thermal image-detecting unit is used to detect a testee at a time-point and a position so as to form thermal image data. Meanwhile, a visible light image-detecting unit is used to detect the testee at the same time-point and position so as to form visible light image data. Thereafter, thermal image data are analyzed to determine if at least one fever-temperature block thereof is within a predetermined temperature range. Then, the fever-temperature block is analyzed to determine if it is corresponding to the skin portions of the visible light image data. Thereafter, if the result of the previous step is yes, then a warning signal is issued to indicate that the testee has fever.Type: GrantFiled: February 8, 2005Date of Patent: June 16, 2009Assignee: Southern Taiwan University of TechnologyInventor: Yih-Ran Sheu
