    Abstract: A transgenic method of obtaining blue flowers by catalyzing glutamine to synthesize indigo is provided. The steps thereof comprise: 1) respectively cloning a Sfp gene encoding phosphopantetheinyl transferase and a bpsA gene encoding indigo synthase downstream of a plant promoter in a plant-promoter-containing plasmid; 2) amplifying the obtained plasmid in E. coli and then transferring the same to Agrobacterium tumefaciens; and 3) transferring DNA containing Sfp and bpsA into a plant. The blue flowers produced by the present invention have various characteristics of natural flowers, being fresh, flower-scented, non-color-fading, and non-toxic. The transgene-encoded enzyme and the produced indigo are not in the vacuole and are not affected by the low pH of the plant vacuole, thereby resulting in a pure blue color. The precursor of the blue matter, i.e., the substrate of the enzyme, is glutamine, which is abundant in plants.

    Abstract: An actuating mechanism includes a main body, an electromagnetic device fixed to the main body, and a swinging rod swingably connected to the main body. A position of connection between the swinging rod and the main body is opposite to an iron core of the electromagnetic device, and an upper end of the swinging rod is opposite to and spaced apart from the electromagnetic device. A permanent magnet is disposed on the upper end of the swinging rod, and a magnetic pole direction of the permanent magnet and a magnetic pole direction of the electromagnetic device cross each other. Since the permanent magnet on the swinging rod is opposite to and spaced apart from the electromagnetic device, the swinging rod is not in contact with the electromagnetic device during working process. This avoids knocking of the swinging rod on other components, and therefore prevents noise, reduces wear.

    Abstract: A system and computer program product are provided for improving the utility of video recommendations in a content system via de-duplication of highly similar thumbnail images. For each video added to an online content system, a thumbnail image is generated and stored. For each such thumbnail image a compressed representation is computed. During playback of a video, a set of related videos is generated. For each video in the set, the corresponding thumbnail image and its compressed representation are retrieved. A measure of visual distance is computed for each pair in the set of representations, and measures indicating excess similarity are identified. Similarity is reduced via selective removal of some of the representations. An identification of the thumbnail images and videos corresponding to the remaining representations is produced.
