The invention also provides methods of treating osteoporosis and autoimmune disease comprising administering to a patient in need of such treatment a therapeutically effective amount of astrogorgiadiol. Pharmaceutical compositions comprising astrogorgiadiol and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluent are also provided.
