  • Patent number: 10927612
Abstract: The present invention provides a downhole auxiliary drilling apparatus, including an impact energy generator capable of converting the energy of the drilling fluid to the axial impact energy, and an impact energy distributor capable of redistributing the impact energy generated by the impact energy generator to convert the axial impact force into a combined impact force, which provides the drilling bit with a high-frequently changing combined impact force, thus greatly improving the rock breaking efficiency and the rate of penetration of the drilling tool. The downhole auxiliary drilling apparatus is further provided with a shock-absorbing and torque-stabilizing device arranged between the impact energy generator and the impact energy distributor, which can reduce the axial vibration of the drilling tool and the damage on the drilling bit, and greatly extend the lifetime of the drilling bit.

  • Patent number: 7426965
Abstract: The invention discloses a fluid-driven impactor, a power transmission mechanism for the impactor and the use of the impactor. In the prior art, the working life of the impactor is short, since a rubber primary seal and an upper fluid-diverging lid for the fluid-driven impactor are both liable to erosion and the efficiency in transmitting power is low due to the complexity of the power transmission mechanism. In order to increase the drilling speed and/or extend the life of the impactor, the side cavity passage is formed in such a way that the inner wall of the outer pipe is isolated from the side cavity passage in a watertight manner without the use of the rubber primary seal. The loss in transmitting power is minimized by integrating the anvil of the power transmission mechanism and the lower joint.

  • Patent number: 7158886
Abstract: This invention provides an automatic control system and method for bottom hole pressure (BHP) in the underbalanced drilling. It relates to a computer automatic control technology. The automatic control system according to the invention includes a processing module for the BHP based on the mechanisms of hydraulics. The BHP in the underbalanced drilling is calculated from the acquired standpipe pressure (SPP), the calculated circulating pressure loss in the drilling tools, drill bit pressure drop and the fluid colunm pressure in the drill string. The resulting BHP is then compared with the set pressure value of the system. In case that the BHP is higher or lower than the set pressure, an instruction to regulate throttle valve opening will be issued in order to bring the BHP back to the set pressure range and complete BHP monitoring and control.
