  • Publication number: 20050003025
Abstract: A method for mitigating the malodor normally associated with a valerian extract. The method consists of adjusting the apparent pH of an aqueous-alcoholic solution of the valerian extract with a chemical base in order to neutralize the valerian extract. The extract can then be subsequently mixed with a carrier to form a powder. Alternatively, the deodorized valerian extract can be used in pharmaceutical, nutritional or dietary formulations.
