The mechanism includes a rotatable toothed disc which has disc teeth that sequentially engage with the lift teeth as the striking rod is lifted from a lower driven position toward an upper retracted position. The toothed disc is movable relative to the striking rod with a torque generated as a result of a non-meshing interference to bring the rotating axis of the toothed disc into deflection away from the striking rod for releasing the interference, and is further biased by a biasing member back to its original position.

    Abstract: Novel composites for use in battery anode electrodes are described. The novel composites include silicon-based nanostructures attached to a carbon-based substrate having a polymer disposed thereon, the polymer including monomeric units formed from styrene and allyl alcohol. The composites allow for the preparation of anode electrodes having low ratios of inactive materials to active materials, with improved processability according to both wet and dry anode coating techniques. Anode electrodes including the composites have improved uniformity and are more apt at accommodating volume changes during cycling.

    Abstract: A fastener driving tool includes a rack-like striking rod and a rod returning mechanism. The rod returning mechanism includes a motor and a pinion receiving a torque from the motor. The pinion has a teeth section and a non-toothed section. During a driving stroke movement of the striking rod, the pinion is rotated by the motor to bring the non-toothed section into facing the teeth of the striking rod. The pinion is subsequently rotated by the motor to bring the teeth section into engagement with the teeth of the striking rod so as to move the striking rod upwardly back to its driving position. The teeth section has a movable tooth which is resiliently movable in a radial direction so as to facilitate meshing engagement of the teeth section with the teeth of the striking rod to smoothly return the striking rod.
