    Abstract: A rail inspection system and probe include a moving carrier having a direction of motion. The probe includes a magnetic circuit having a first leg comprising a first end and a second end, a second leg spaced-apart from the first leg, the second leg comprising a first end and a second end, and a yoke magnetically coupling the second end of the first leg and the second end of the second leg. The magnetic circuit generates a magnetic field aligned with the direction of motion, and at a center point between the first leg and the second leg no motion-induced current is present under defect free conditions of the rail. A circuit board extends between the first leg and the second leg. A plurality of magnetic sensors is disposed proximate the center point.

    Abstract: A robot apparatus, including elongated segments connected by joints and having wheels, is configured to move along an elongated enclosure. Another aspect of the robot provides multiple articulated rail segments, each pair connected by pivotable joints, with a linear biasing member such as a tension spring spanning across each joint, configured to laterally urge wheels adjacent to the joints to contact opposite internal walls of a pipe. A further aspect of the present robot provides articulated segments, actuators mounted thereto, wheels independently driven by the actuators, and a programmable controller movable with the segments for causing autonomous advancing and retracting movement, maneuvering and/or steering of the robot within an elongated conduit or pipe, while optically and/or visually sensing and inspecting deterioration and irregularities, such as cracks and deformation, in the conduit or pipe.

    Abstract: A method of pulsed eddy current (PEC) testing includes receiving metal loss output measurements. The metal loss output measurements are calculated based on eddy current response captured by a probe at a location on a pipe or tank, wherein one or more energized high voltage cables are located within the pipe or tank. The method further includes generating compensated metal loss output measurements to compensate for errors in the metal loss output measurements caused by the energized high voltage cables. The method further includes outputting the compensated metal loss output measurements as PEC test results.

    Abstract: An implantable apparatus and related methods for placement of a sling so as to provide a controllable restriction about a body lumen for restoring controlled fecal continence. The sling is generally inserted through the use of a tunneler for defining tunnels in which the sling may be inserted to provide control of the sphincter. The tunneler can be provided individually or as a set or kit of tunnelers having unique cross-sectional areas such that the size of the tunnels can be increased to accommodated insertion of the sling. The tunneler can include a self-expandable device, which can be adjusted or controlled to create a wider tunnel. The tunneler can include a semi-rigid case or sheet is disposed about the middle part of the sling to protect the mesh, make tissue penetrator easier and allow for adjustment of the mesh following insertion.
