Cyclic carbonate monomers may be obtained from epoxides through the insertion of carbon dioxide. A polyhydroxyurethane may be reprocessed multiple times with minimal properties decrease with or without the addition of a catalyst. A polyhydroxyurethane may be combined with pristine or recycled reinforcing fibers to form a fiber-reinforced composite having specific desired material properties.
