  • Publication number: 20190118705
Abstract: Systems and methods directed to projecting a current trajectory path of the autonomous vehicle on a surface of road is disclosed. In some embodiments, an autonomous vehicle with a light projector is disclosed, where the light projector is on a top surface of an autonomous vehicle. Additionally, in some embodiments, the autonomous vehicle may include an electronic control unit for controlling an operation of the light projector, where the electronic control unit detects whether the autonomous vehicle is turned on. In further embodiments, the electronic control unit receives data of an environmental condition surrounding the autonomous vehicle and receives an upcoming trajectory path of the autonomous vehicle. The electronic control unit may also project a light from the light projector onto a surface of a road indicating the upcoming trajectory path of the autonomous vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20140028109
Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and methods for wirelessly transmitting power to receivers that are freely mobile, such as power receivers for sensors attached to animal experiments. An example transmitter includes a resonator including a generator and transmitter coil, an initial drive signal generator that removes the generator from an ‘off’ state thereby causing the transmitter coil to create an alternating magnetic field that oscillates within a threshold of a resonant frequency of the generator, a phase detector that receives a signal from a receiver coil receiving power via the magnetic field, and a transition module that switches from the initial drive signal to a drive signal generated based on output from the phase detector. An example wireless power receiver has three turns of wire, one on each axis, around a ferrite plate, the outputs of which are connected in parallel to produce a combined output power signal.

  • Publication number: 20120179704
Abstract: A system and method are proposed for identifying multimedia files in a first database which are related to a textual term specified by a user. The textual term is used to search a second database of multimedia files, each of which is associated with a portion of text. The “second database” is usually composed of files from the databases of a very large number of servers connected via the internet. The multimedia files identified in the search are ones for which the corresponding associated text is relevant to the textual term. The identified multimedia files are used to generate a classifier engine. The classifier engine is then applied to the first database of multimedia files, thereby retrieving multimedia files in the first database which are relevant to the textual term. The user can optionally specify whether the retrieved multimedia files are relevant or not, and this permits a feedback process to improve the classifier engine.

  • Publication number: 20100015918
Abstract: Apparatus and method for wireless near-field magnetic communication (NFMC) of information (e.g., voice or data) over modest distances (centimeters to a few kilometers). The transmission can proceed from an inductive coil transmitter to a magneto-electric (ME) receiving device, or between two ME devices. Electrical power may also be transmitted from and/or received using the same device. In one case, power and data are transmitted from an induction coil to a distant ME device that collects power and transmits data back to the power-transmission coil. In another case, the wireless transfer of data can be carried out between two ME devices. ME devices can be engineered to transmit or receive data and to receive electric power over a variety of frequencies by changing their dimensions, their material makeup and configuration, electrode configurations, and/or their resonance modes (longitudinal, transversal, bending, shear etc).
