    Abstract: In a method and apparatus for determining an edge trend for an interested pixel of an image, a plurality of selected pixels nearby the interested pixel are evaluated to obtain a dominant image direction thereof, and thereby to further obtain the edge trend from the dominant image direction. Each of the selected pixels is evaluated from a plurality of corresponding color values to determine an image direction, and the dominant image direction is the image direction that the most of the selected pixels are determined to have.
