  • Patent number: 7778606
Abstract: A wireless intrusion detection system (WIDS) is disclosed for monitoring both authorized and unauthorized access to a wireless portion of a network. The WIDS consists of a collector and one or more nodes that communicate via an out of band means that is separate from the network. Unauthorized access points and unauthorized clients in the network can be detected. The WIDS can be used to monitor, for example, a network implemented using the 802.11 protocol. In addition, the WIDS can be used by one company to provide a service that monitors the wireless network of another company.

  • Patent number: 7702955
Abstract: A processing unit of a system detects a fault condition associated with the co-processing unit and, upon detection, restores the processing unit using stored user context information. During normal operation, user context information used to execute operation commands are stored by the co-processing unit in memory and maintained after fault detection. A fault condition is detected when at least a portion of the processing unit is rendered non-operational due to a discharging electrostatic event. Fault conditions may be detected by receiving information by the co-processing unit indicative of a fault condition, or by checking at least one memory location associated with processing unit to determine if information stored therein indicates a fault condition. The co-processing unit returns the processing unit to a known, workable state by using the stored user context information to restore the pre-fault detection state information to the memory locations associated with the processing unit.

  • Publication number: 20070168028
Abstract: A posterior chamber phakic lens made from an elastomeric, foldable, highly biocompatible and permeable material. The lens has a generally circular optic and a plurality of integrally formed, filament-like haptics. The haptics project posteriorly from the optic and contain a raised feature or ridge that is sandwiched between the posterior iris and the zonules when implanted in an eye. Such a construction has a low vaulting force under compression, is size insensitive, provides for a stable lens once implanted in the eye, helps to avoid pupillary blockage and allows for improved aqueous flow around the natural lens.

  • Patent number: 7223288
Abstract: A two-optic accommodative lens system. The first lens has a negative power and is located posteriorly within the capsular bag and laying against the posterior capsule. The periphery of the first lens contains a pair of generally T-shaped haptics oriented along a vertical meridian of the capsular bag and having a generally rectangular slot within the top portion of the “T”. The first lens further having a plurality of elongated haptics oriented along a horizontal meridian of the capsular bag. The second lens is located anteriorly to the first lens outside of the capsular bag and is of a positive power. The peripheral edge of the second lens contains a pair of encircling haptics having a notched tab sized and shape to fit within the slots in the haptics on the first lens to lock the second lens onto the first lens. Hinge structures on the encircling haptics allow the second lens to move relative to the first lens along the optical axis of the lens system in reaction to movement of the ciliary muscle.

  • Patent number: 7034890
Abstract: The system for updating a clock in an electronic device, such as a personal computer, has a receiver system having an input for receiving a real time signal and having an output on which is provided digital information representative of the real time signal. An extraction module is operatively coupled to the receiver system, the extraction module extracting at least a current time value from the display data. An update module is operatively coupled to the extraction module, the update module updating the clock in the computer when the current time value of the digital information differs from a current value of the clock in the computer. In one embodiment a validating unit is operatively coupled between the extraction module and the update module. The validating unit compares channel identification data derived from the display data to time zone data in the computer, the time zone data being indicative of a time zone in which the computer is currently located.

  • Patent number: 6969403
Abstract: A two-optic accommodative lens system. The first lens has a negative power and is located posteriorly against the posterior capsule. The periphery of the first optic contains a pair of clasps. The second optic is located anteriorly to the first optic and is of a positive power. The peripheral edge of the second optic contains a pair of locking arms that fit into the clasps contained on the periphery of the first optic to lock the second optic onto the first optic, but allow for rotation of the arms within the clasps. Hinge structures on the locking arms allow the second optic to move relative to the first optic along the optical axis of the lens system in reaction to movement of the ciliary muscle.

  • Patent number: 6957329
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for encrypting data from a plurality of multimedia devices. A driver initiates authentication for the plurality of multimedia applications. The driver assigns a key registers to each of the applications, based on available key registers. The applications use generated encryption key values to send data to be decrypted by their assigned key registers. The driver notifies video processing hardware of encryption seed keys to determine the generated encryption key values and hardware stores the value of corresponding decryption keys the assigned key registers. Each register can be used to exclusively decrypt data from an application of the plurality of applications. The driver directs the encrypted data from the applications to the video processing hardware. The video processing hardware decrypts the data and processes it into image data accordingly.
