Patent number: 11948796Abstract: One or more embodiments described herein relate to selective methods for fabricating devices and structures. In these embodiments, the devices are exposed inside the process volume of a process chamber. Precursor gases are flowed in the process volume at certain flow ratios and at certain process conditions. The process conditions described herein result in selective epitaxial layer growth on the {100} planes of the crystal planes of the devices, which corresponds to the top of each of the fins. Additionally, the process conditions result in selective etching of the {110} plane of the crystal planes, which corresponds to the sidewalls of each of the fins. As such, the methods described herein provide a way to grow or etch epitaxial films at different crystal planes. Furthermore, the methods described herein allow for simultaneous epitaxial film growth and etch to occur on the different crystal planes.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 2020Date of Patent: April 2, 2024Assignee: APPLIED MATERIALS, INC.Inventors: Yi-Chiau Huang, Chen-Ying Wu, Abhishek Dube, Chia Cheng Chin, Saurabh Chopra

Publication number: 20240097216Abstract: The present invention discloses a detection device and a probe module thereof, wherein an electrical connection path between a battery detection frame and a battery under test is provided via the probe module. The probe module includes a base, a first polarity plate, a second polarity plate, a first upper connection group, a second upper connection group, a first lower connection member and a second lower connection member. Via the first polarity plate, the first upper connection group is correspondingly coupled to the battery detection frame, and the first lower connection member is correspondingly coupled to the battery under test. Via the second polarity plate, the second upper connection group is correspondingly coupled to the battery detection frame, and the second lower connection member is correspondingly coupled to the battery under test. Thus, it is not necessary to process a cable having been fixed on the battery detection frame when the probe module is replaced.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 8, 2023Publication date: March 21, 2024Inventors: CHUAN-TSE LIN, CHEN-CHOU WEN, SHIH-CHIN TAN, WEN-CHUAN CHANG, YING-CHENG CHEN

Patent number: 11757803Abstract: Certain embodiments enable application message delivery to be automatically guaranteed for all failover scenarios through use of a novel infrastructure layer that supports high availability (HA) messaging. The High Availability Application Messaging Layer (HAML) can guarantee delivery of application messages whether a failover occurs at one or both of the source and the intended destination of the message. The HAML may transmit messages to one intended destination, as unicast messaging, or to multiple intended destinations, as multicast messaging. In some embodiments, the HAML may be HA aware, which refers to the awareness of the HAML of the redundancy for all processing entities within a network device to ensure hitless failover at the network device. By moving support for HA messaging from individual applications to the HAML, as a common infrastructure layer across the processing entities, the individual applications do not need to implement additional software to explicitly support HA messaging.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 2020Date of Patent: September 12, 2023Assignee: Avago Technologies International Sales Pte. LimitedInventors: Bill Ying Chin, Poongovan Ponnavaikko, Dan N. Retter, Mayur Mahajan

Patent number: 10929678Abstract: The techniques disclosed herein provide improvements over existing systems by dynamically controlling communication connections between two or more computing devices based on the detection of specific events. Instead of requiring a device, such as an IoT device, to be continually connected to a network or a remote device, the techniques disclosed herein enable the device to remain offline until a specific event is detected. The disclosed technologies can avoid always-on network configurations while providing a desired functionality for an IoT device. For instance, some devices only connect with other computing devices or at network in response to detection of an event, then disconnect after an exchange of specific information. Such technologies can significantly reduce the power consumption of a device by only invoking connections at appropriate times.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 2019Date of Patent: February 23, 2021Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Robert Zhu, Weiyou Cui, Bin Wang, Ying Chin, Dejun Zhang

Patent number: 10191811Abstract: A system of booting a computer in which a pair of boots (or dual boots) is provided in the flash memory of the computer. The first flash boot, also called the primary boot, is activated when the computer is turned on, after the POST (Power on Self-Test). The primary boot determines if a secondary boot is stored in the flash memory of the computer. If the secondary boot is not stored in the flash memory of the computer, the primary boot resumes and the computer is booted using the primary boot. If a secondary boot is stored in the flash memory of the computer, the primary boot resumes and is completed, after which the computer is reset and rebooted using the secondary boot.Type: GrantFiled: August 13, 2015Date of Patent: January 29, 2019Assignee: QUANTA COMPUTER INC.Inventors: Chih-Liang Hsu, Wei-Liang Cheng, Ying-Chin Huang
