  • Patent number: 8089556
Abstract: A method for driving a flat display is disclosed. Each row of the flat display includes N pixels, that is used to display M pixel data in a row of a image frame, wherein M and N are positive integers and M is larger than N. The method includes, in a first time division, the N pixels display N pixel data out of the M pixel data, and in a second time division, the N pixels display the remaining M-N pixel data.

  • Patent number: 7746328
Abstract: A display driving circuit including a color correction unit and a driving unit is provided. The color correction unit receives a digital video signal and a polarity signal, and outputs a color corrected video signal according to the received digital video signal and the polarity signal, wherein the polarity signal represents the polarity of the driving polarity applied on the display apparatus. The driving unit receives a color corrected video signal and accordingly has the received color corrected video signal converted into an analog driving voltage. The display apparatus displays the frame on the display panel according to the received analog driving voltage.

  • Publication number: 20080055216
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention set forth methods and systems for driving display devices. In one embodiment, a first set of image data to be displayed on a display panel is stored. During a first time period, a reset signal is asserted to set the display panel associated with a common panel voltage to a predictable state. Subsequent to the first time period, a control signal is asserted to load the first set of image data for a first subframe within a frame on the display panel, wherein this first set of image data is further adjusted by a first adjustable reference voltage. A designated light for the display panel is turned on to display the first set of image data in parallel with the storing of a second set of image data for a subframe within the frame to be displayed.

  • Publication number: 20070268238
Abstract: An image-displaying control circuit used in a scan-backlight LCD is disclosed. The image-displaying control circuit comprises a driver control circuit, a plurality of gate driver groups, a backlight control circuit and a plurality of backlight driver groups. Each of the gate driver groups is used to drive one of the display blocks, and the driver control circuit outputs a gate sequence signal to the gate driver groups. The gate drive groups can respectively drive the display blocks in a driving sequence according to the gate sequence signal. The backlight driver groups controlled by the backlight control circuit are respectively used to turn on one of the backlight blocks, and the driver control circuit outputs a backlight sequence signal to the backlight control circuit. Then, the backlight control circuit can control the backlight driver groups to respectively turn on the backlight blocks in the same driving sequence as the display blocks.

  • Patent number: 7006066
Abstract: The driving circuit of a liquid crystal cell structure consists essentially of first and second write-enable transistors, first and second storage capacitors, first and second display-enable transistors, and a reset/preset transistor. When one of the display-enable transistors is turned on such that the video data saved in the corresponding storage capacitor is loaded into the mirror electrode for display, the other corresponding write-enable transistor is turned on simultaneously to pre-load the next video data into the corresponding storage capacitor. When the first and second display-enable transistors both are turned off, the reset/preset transistor is turned on to set the liquid crystal in the reset/preset voltage, wherein the reset/preset voltage is based on the overdrive voltage of the arrangement of the liquid crystal before next sub-frame time so as to increase the response rate of the liquid crystal cell.
