    Abstract: A light-emitting diode (LED) light string for non-directional lighting has an LED strip and a transparent protection tube mounted around the LED strip. The LED strip has clear and transparent substrate, multiple conductive wires formed on the transparent substrate, and multiple SMT LEDs attached on the transparent substrate. Each of the SMT LED is a substantially transparent structure with good optical clarity. Therefore, light generated from the LED is emitted toward multiple directions to achieve a non-directional lighting effect.
