  • Patent number: 9948158
Abstract: A motor cooling system for cooling a motor unit including a stator assembly and a rotor assembly configured to rotate a rotor shaft, which includes a stator casing and an arm casing. The stator casing includes a stator casing body having a stator casing wall with an internal cavity to receive the motor unit and a rib with a groove defined between adjacent portions of the rib. The arm casing includes an arm casing body having an internal cavity to receive the stator casing and a port in fluid communication with the groove.

  • Patent number: 6966685
Abstract: An illumination system employs a light distribution cylinder with an exterior surface in the form of a plurality of progressively smaller-diameter cylindrical steps. The outside surface of each cylindrical step is interrupted by V-shaped grooves perpendicular to the axis of the cylinder. Each surface of these V-shaped grooves acts to internally reflect divergent light from a light source positioned at the end of the tube. The light distribution cylinders may be solid or hollow and configured with bilateral symmetry to receive light from either end. The illumination system rearranges divergent directional light from a light source into non-directional light emitted in a cylindrical pattern useful for area illumination.

  • Publication number: 20050190563
Abstract: A lighting module employs a Fresnel lens having concentric regions of different focal lengths. The light source is positioned at the focal distance of a central lens region and inside the focal distance of a peripheral lens region. The resulting light pattern is a bright central spot surrounded by a ring of diminishing brightness.

  • Patent number: 6206549
Abstract: A light reflector for use in a lighting device including a light bulb having a filament. The reflector includes a cup-shaped body having a parabolic internal reflective surface divided transversely into an inner portion surrounding the light bulb to focus light from the light bulb into a parallel light beam to produce a bright spot and an outer portion adjoining the inner portion. The outer portion is faceted to smooth blurring around the bright spot.
