Patent number: 7803350Abstract: This invention provides a process for producing a radioactive arsenic-containing compound, comprising the steps of: (i) subjecting an arsenic-containing compound to a neutron irradiation treatment, said arsenic-containing compound being selected from a group consisting of As2O3, As2S3, As2S2, and a combination thereof, such that the arsenic element contained in the arsenic-containing compound is converted to a radioactive arsenic isotope; and (ii) recovering the resultant product from step (i). This invention also provides a pharmaceutical composition comprising a therapeutically effective amount of the radioactive arsenic-containing compound and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. The pharmaceutical composition can be used in the treatment of tumors/cancers such as hematological malignancies and solid tumors.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 2007Date of Patent: September 28, 2010Assignees: Institute of Nuclear Energy Research Rocaec, TTY Biopharm Company, LimitedInventors: Te-Wei Lee, Chun-Ying Huang, Ming-Shiuan Wu, Te-Jung Chen, Kwo-Ping Chang, Shiang-Rong Chang, Shyh-Yi Chyi, Chih-Hsien Chang, Yin-Mao Hsu, Kuo-Hsien Fan, Wei-Chuan Hsu, Ying-Kai Fu, Charng-Feng Kao

Patent number: 7712250Abstract: A wild seaweed, like sea lettuce, is picked and germ cells are released from the seaweed. The germ cells then obtain adherence and are sprouted into youngs of the seaweed so that the seaweed can be cultivated artificially and productively and can be supplied as a material for biomass energy.Type: GrantFiled: July 5, 2006Date of Patent: May 11, 2010Assignee: Atomic Energy CouncilInventors: Yean-Chang Chen, Chia-Chieh Chen, Kuan-Yin Chen, Hsueh-Hsuan Liu, Bin Lin, Meng-Chou Lee, Ming-Chao Kuo, Wen-Song Hwang, Ying-Kai Fu, Wuu-Jyh Lin, Lie-Hang Shen

Patent number: 7638338Abstract: The present invention provides a method for measuring and calibrating sample injection volume or mobile phase delivery rate of any type of micropumps or their integrated systems by using the direct proportion of the total activity (or mass) to the delivery rate (or volume) of a radiochemical nuclide with known activity in a certain time period. Also, the present invention may adjust the range of measurement and calibration from micro-liter (?L) to pico-liter (pL) or from ?L/min to pL/min by selecting nuclide species and their concentrations from different liquid calibration radiation sources.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 2005Date of Patent: December 29, 2009Assignee: Atomic Energy Council - Institute of Nuclear Energy ResearchInventors: Kung-Tien Liu, Jyh-Perng Chiu, Hsuan-Erh Chao, Ying-Kai Fu
