Abstract: A terminal installed in one terminal slot of an IC chip holder and adapted to electrically connect one contact pin of an IC chip to a circuit board below. The terminal has two suspension arms transversely disposed at different elevations and adapted to clamp the corresponding contact pin of the IC chip and press the contact pin against the peripheral wall of the terminal slot, keeping the contact pin of the IC chip in positive contact with the terminal.

Abstract: An electrical connector for connecting a chip module with pins to mainboard of computer is provided. The connector comprises a connector body, a plurality of inverted L-shaped pins, a sliding board, and a lock lever wherein two tabs are provided on two opposing sides of sliding board adjacent to lock lever such that tabs may bend to press chip module mounted on sliding board when pulling down lock lever to urge against tabs for securing chip module on sliding board. Pins of connector are overlapped in pin holes through connector body such that elongated flexible portion of one pin may extend to adjacent pin when rods of pins are secured in pin holes. This can provide a good electrical contact between engagement portions of pins of connector and pins of secured chip module due to the sufficient elastic force of flexible portion of pin.

Abstract: A connector assembly comprises a plastic connector mounted on mainboard and two metal enhancement devices wherein connector includes a body and two parallel arms each including two spaced raised members, a positioning projection, and a protrusion with a guide slope defined between top side of arm and protrusion; and enhancement devices are secured to arms including a U-shaped plate member having a planar portion and two spaced tab members with central openings, a protruded engagement member fixed on mainboard, and an outward slant flexible strip. With the support of engagement members, strips can share stress with plate members and flexed arms when inserting RAM module in connector, resulting in a uniform stress distribution on the assembly.
