  • Publication number: 20170192925
Abstract: In the system, a buffer and a multiplexer are electrically connected to an I2C interface and a control interface of a PCH. A plurality of memory are electrically connected to the buffer and corresponding to a first I2C address respectively. A plurality of card slots are electrically connected to the multiplexer for connecting to a function card so that the function card is corresponding to a second I2C address. When the first I2C address is distinct to the second I2C address, the PCH triggers the multiplexer to be enabled through the control interface to have the function card electrically connected to the PCH through the I2C interface. When the first I2C address is the same as the second I2C address, the PCH triggers the multiplexer or the buffer to be disabled through the control interface to have the function card or the memories electrically connected to the PCH through the I2C interface.

  • Publication number: 20160156526
Abstract: A server for selectively switching management network is disclosed in the present invention. In the server, a baseboard management controller (BMC) is provided to send a connection signal in a dedicated management network connection status. The BMC is also provided to send a trigger signal and the connection signal in a triggering event. A dedicated network connection controller of a dedicated network connection module receives the connection signal in the dedicated management network connection status to make the BMC connect to a client through a dedicated network connection port of the dedicated network connection module. In the triggering event, a programmable logic unit receives the connection signal to transmit a switch signal to a switch of a general network connection module. When the switch receives the switch signal, the switch is turned on to make a general network connection controller of the general network connection module receive the connection signal.

  • Publication number: 20160156170
Abstract: A server with a power source protection system and a method thereof are provided herein, in which the server includes a power-controlling device and a hard disk drive connector. The power-controlling device includes an input unit that receives an input voltage, an output unit that outputs a load voltage, a switching unit coupled between the input unit and the output unit, and a processor coupled to the switching unit. The processor monitors a load current and controls the switching unit to turn on or off an output of the load voltage. The hard disk drive connector coupled to the output unit receives the load voltage. When the bad current exceeds a predetermined current value, the processor turns off the switching unit for a cut-off period and retries to turn on the switching unit after the cut-off period so as to output the load voltage.

  • Publication number: 20160139645
Abstract: In the power-on method with the computing system, when a first logic unit of a logic module is powered normally, the logic module is provided to transmit an available power-control-signal to a power conversion unit to make the power conversion unit transmit a working power to a second logic unit of the logic module. In the updating method with the computing system, a processing module is provided to receive an updating instruction to update the logic module. When the logic module is fail to be updated, the logic module transmit an invalid power-control-signal to the power conversion unit to make the power conversion unit transmit stop generating the working power, and then the logic module is updated by the processing module with a firmware update information stored in a storage. After updating by the processing module, the second logic unit of the logic module receives the working power again.
