Patent number: 11991751Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may be configured to generate a preamble of a first message associated with a random access channel (RACH) procedure, such as a two-step RACH procedure. The UE may be further configured to determine an identifier (ID) associated with the UE based on at least one of an ID associated with the preamble or a port index associated with a demodulation reference signal (DMRS). The UE may generate a payload of the first message that indicates the ID associated with the UE. The UE may then transmit the first message to a base station to initiate the RACH procedure. Potentially, the UE may receive a second message from the base station responsive to the first message, and the second message may confirm the ID associated with the UE.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 2020Date of Patent: May 21, 2024Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Yiqing Cao, Jing Lei, Wanshi Chen

Publication number: 20240137958Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In some wireless communications systems, a user equipment (UE) may support two or more uplink switching periods for transmit chain switching. The UE may transmit a UE capability message indicating the UE capability to support a first uplink switching period and a second uplink switching period for transmit chain switching. The first uplink switching period and the second uplink switching period may each correspond to different switching periods associated with configuration switches between different transmit chain configurations of the UE. The UE and a base station may select an uplink switching period from among the first uplink switching period and the second uplink switching period. The UE may transmit an uplink data message to the base station after a preparation time that is based on the uplink switching period.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 28, 2021Publication date: April 25, 2024Inventors: Yiqing CAO, Peter GAAL, Timo Ville VINTOLA, Alberto RICO ALVARINO, Kazuki TAKEDA, Wanshi CHEN, Bin HAN, Yan LI, Zhimin DU

Patent number: 11930521Abstract: The described techniques relate to improved methods, systems, devices, and apparatuses that support interference mitigation for remote devices. A first wireless device (e.g., a base station) may detect remote interference with its communications caused by a second wireless device (e. g., a second, remote base station) based on, for example, a measured interference over thermal noise level exceeding a threshold. The first wireless device may identify a set of time-frequency resources for remote interference reference signals and a data transmission for a user equipment (UE) that is in communication with the first wireless device. The first wireless device may transmit a remote interference signal to a second wireless device (e. g., a second base station) via the set of time-frequency resources. The first wireless device may further signal a resource allocation to the UE for the UE to use for transmitting uplink transmissions to the first wireless device.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 2019Date of Patent: March 12, 2024Assignee: QUALCOMM IncorporatedInventors: Yiqing Cao, Wanshi Chen, Yuwei Ren, Chenxi Hao, Huilin Xu, Tingfang Ji
