Abstract: A system and method is provided for taking digital photographs of subjects and for distributing digital images from the photographs according to subject identifiers transmitted from RFID tags held with the subjects. With a first embodiment, data from photographs taken of a number of groups of individuals, such as passengers on a cruise ship, are distributed only to individuals within the groups. With a second embodiment, the RFID tags are placed within or on objects likely to be stolen, so that the objects can be tracked by digital photographs automatically taken as the objects are moved past a camera unit.

Abstract: A method for preparing prepress image data includes forming low-resolution versions of the image data and laying out a document in a page layout program. Data describing commands manipulating the images and placing the images within a document is embedded within the metadata, and preferably within the Exif section of the megadata, of the low-resolution image files for subsequent use in manipulating and placing high-resolution versions of the images before printing the document. Alternately, high-resolution image data may be placed according to the placement of low-resolution image data by a conventional image editor.

Abstract: A method for creating and sharing graphical images among remote locations includes forming a cluster of client systems connected to a server, generating digital data representing graphical images within some of the client systems, and transmitting this data to the server, which forms one or more digital feed(s) including data representing the graphical images to be transmitted to client systems. During the transmission of the digital feed(s), the timing and composition of the feed(s) is not affected by actions of the client systems.

Abstract: A system and method are provided for integrating a workflow through an image enhancement process with a workflow through a printing process. Input files, which are preferably PDF files, arrive at the workflow, in which images are extracted from the input files to be sent through the image enhancement process, which may be performed within a separate computer system executing instructions of an image enhancement or management program, providing an output that is integrated back into the workflow, producing printable output files, which are preferably additionally PDF files.
