  • Patent number: 6621724
Abstract: An electrical power strip for making power available from a vehicular DC power system to a vehicle accessory. The power strip includes at least one polarized receptacle and a conductor. The receptacle includes a slot and a positive contact aligned with the slot. The conductor includes a first end connected to the positive contact and a second end connectable to a positive terminal of the vehicular DC power system. The slot includes at least three extensions each oriented at substantially equal degrees apart from adjacent extensions. A polarized plug for use with a DC powered vehicle accessory. The polarized plug includes an insulating plug body and a prong mounted to the insulating plug body. The prong has at least three wings each oriented at substantially equal degrees apart from adjacent wings.

  • Patent number: 6164191
Abstract: A single serving beverage maker with a removable water storage reservoir (with a sight glass) to hold multiples of a single serving of water, a water boiler reservoir to heat a single serving of water, an electric heater for heating the single serving of water in the water boiler reservoir, one or more valves between the water storage reservoir and the water boiler reservoir, a brewing compartment for holding a single serving of a material (which may be in a porous bag) to be infused into the water, and a support to closely interfit with and position a coffee cup subjacent the brewing compartment such that a succession of single servings of a heated beverage such as coffee may be individually brewed and served. The beverage maker may utilize the boiler reservoir as a measuring reservoir or alternatively, a separate measuring reservoir (also with a sight glass) may be provided between the water storage reservoir and the water boiler reservoir.

  • Patent number: 4885446
Abstract: A microwave oven turntable having a load-responsive mechanism for self-activating the turntable upon the placement of foodstuff thereon. The turntable includes a base assembly having a planar bottom and upwardly extending sides to form a base interior in which a drive shaft is rotatably driven by a coil spring. A tabletop is coupled to the drive shaft for rotation therewith, but the rate of rotation is determined by the cyclical motion of a governor. The load-responsive mechanism includes a resilient brake member which is aligned in a governor-locking position. The tabletop is linked to the brake member by an actuator and the brake member is sufficient rigid to maintain the actuator and tabletop in a slightly uplifted condition when in the governor-locking position. The placement of foodstuff on the tabletop, however, provides a gravitational force which displaces the brake member into a governor-releasing position in spaced apart relation to the governor.

  • Patent number: 4694132
Abstract: A microwave oven turntable having a removable table top driver at various points about its circumference. The turntable includes a base having a flat bottom and an upwardly extending cylindrical side wall. A central drive shaft is rotatably mounted to the base bottom to form a vertical axis of rotation. A spring provides rotational energy to the drive shaft. A dependent gear is coaxially mounted to the drive shaft and the dependent gear meshes with a gear train that governs the rate of drive shaft rotation so as to ensure a relatively constant rotational speed. The spring and gears are encased by a circular base cover member having a center aperture through which a portion of the drive shaft projects. A spider drive member is attached to the portion of the drive shaft projecting through the base cover member for rotation therewith. The spider drive member rests on a retainer ring having spherical balls and is additionally supported by freely rotatable wheels.
