    Abstract: A field emission display having multi-layer structure is composed of three separate plates, i.e. a cathode plate, a gate plate and an anode plate. Cathodes are prepared on the cathode plates. Gate apertures are fabricated on the gate plate. Gate electrodes and focusing electrodes are fabricated on the gate plate. Phosphor layer is prepared on the anode plate. These plates are assembled together and electrically insulated from each other by insulating spacers, forming a field emission display.
