  • Patent number: 9258717
Abstract: A method and arrangement in a terminal evaluation unit for detecting a malfunctioning terminal in a cellular network is provided. Connection data is received from at least one network node in the cellular network, wherein the connection data is referring to connections of terminals when present in cells of the cellular network. A mean connection drop rate is calculated based on the connection data for the terminals when present at least in a first cell during a preset time period. An individual connection drop rate which is associated with the first terminal is determined from the connection data. Deciding, based on a ratio between the individual connection drop rate and the mean drop rate, whether or not the first terminal is malfunctioning and providing the result from the deciding action to a cellular network operator for further evaluation.

  • Patent number: 7796556
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and arrangements for including a detected cell, i.e. a cell not identified by the network, in an active set, i.e. the set comprising the base stations simultaneously connected to the same mobile terminal in soft handover. The method comprises the steps of:—receiving a measurement report comprising a detected set cell from a mobile terminal located in a first cell:—providing (301) a list (L1) for the first cell in the network with cells not defined as neighbouring cells to the first cell, wherein the cells in the list (L1) are grouped based on their scrambling codes;—identifying (302) the scrambling code of the detected set cell;—creating (303) a temporary relation between one of the cells in the list (L1), having an identical scrambling code as the detected set cell, and one cell in the AS;—adding (304) the one of the cells in the list (L1), having an identical scrambling code as the detected set cell, to the active set.

  • Patent number: 5465393
Abstract: A simulated air interface system repeatedly simulates a constant but variable open air environment. In the system, a plurality of mobile stations are connected to at least one base station by cables. The system separates the radio path at each mobile station's antenna into an uplink path and a downlink path so that frequency modulation and signal reflections are not introduced into the system. The conditions of the simulated open air environment can be varied by introducing attenuation, doppler shifts, and signal fading into the system.

  • Patent number: 3955176
Abstract: A laser diode is provided with a casing that encloses a light-emitting crystal. The casing includes a transparent member through which the light passes. A portion of the diode is positioned within a holder and means is provided for cooling the diode. To reduce condensation of moisture which is present within the holder, upon the transparent member, a sleeve formed of a thermally high conductor material such as copper is placed about the casing with close physical contact therebetween.
