  • Patent number: 5564320
Abstract: A bar peeling tool includes a rotatable cutter head with circumferentially spaced cassettes. Each cassette comprises a toolholder and an adjusting device. The adjustment device comprises a setting unit provided with a protrusion which fits into an end of the toolholder. The protrusion includes a recess in which a wedge element is slidable. By sliding the wedge element, the toolholder is adjusted along a longitudinal axis of the cassette. Sliding of the wedge element is performed by means of set screws mounted in the toolholder at opposite ends of the wedge element. A clamping screw extends between the setting unit and the toolholder for clamping the wedge in the radial direction.

  • Patent number: 5353668
Abstract: The present invention provides a tool for bar peeling comprising a rotatable cutter head with circumferentially spaced toolholders each of which is provided with a U-shaped recess along one of its side surfaces. A wedge shaped element is longitudinally displaceable in the U-shaped recess so that an insert carried by the toolholder in subjected to radial adjustment upon a longitudinal displacement of said wedge shaped element.

  • Patent number: 5256008
Abstract: A tool for bar peeling of solid or hollow bars includes a rotatable cutter head and a plurality of toolholders distributed around its periphery. Each toolholder is provided with a roughing insert and a finishing insert. The edge surface of each roughing insert intersect with the top surface to define three separate cutting edges whereby adjacent pair of these edges intersect at obtuse angles ranging from 120-140 degrees. The cutting edges of the roughing insert are convexly curved, whereas the cutting edges of the finishing insert are basically linear.

  • Patent number: 5246315
Abstract: A multi-cornered cutting insert includes a corner cutting edge at each corner, and a chipbreaking recess spaced inwardly of each corner cutting edge. The recess is curved as the insert is viewed in plan. A clearance face for each corner cutting edge has a clearance angle which progressively increases toward the respective corner.
