  • Publication number: 20210299332
Abstract: The disclosure relates to high-strength polyolefin composite fibers, which fibers have a fiber body comprising a composition consisting of polyolefin; 1-30 mass % of bioceramic particles having particle size D50 of 0.01-10 ?m; at most 0.05 mass % of residual spin solvent; optionally 0-3 mass % of other additives; and wherein the sum of a)-d) is 100 mass %; and which fibers have bioceramic particles exposed at their surface, and show bioactivity. The composite fibers based on a composition of polyolefin with bioceramic particles mixed therein show particles being exposed at the fiber surface by techniques like AFM and XPS, and although apparently only a relatively small amount of bioceramic particles is exposed at the fiber surface, this appears sufficient for effective interaction with their environment and stimulating a positive biological response as demonstrated by in vitro cell studies.

  • Publication number: 20140331744
Abstract: The present invention relates to an injector for use in gas phase analytical systems and methods comprising a metal housing, provided with a carrier gas inlet, a split outlet, a column outlet of the injector, a sample inlet, a liner, and a heater device comprising at least one coil for radio frequency inductive heating the housing with a predetermined temperature program and for providing a predetermined spatial temperature profile in the injector. The injector according to the invention allows performing gas phase analyses, especially GC analyses with reduced discrimination. Advantages of heating with a heater device comprising a coil for inductive heating include a homogeneous heating profile of the housing including parts connected thereto, with heating rates that can be varied widely. A further advantage is that the injector can be operated as a conventional S/SL injector at a predetermined temperature, or as PTV injector or thermal desorption injector with certain predetermined temperature programs.

  • Publication number: 20110203346
Abstract: The invention provides a manual or automated method for eliminating or minimizing retention time shifts in comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography (abbreviated GCxGC). Under nominal identical conditions (identical column-set specifications and GCxGC oven temperature programming), the invention allows one to reproduce the two-dimensional retention times from one column-set to another, from one GCxGC to another or from one column outlet pressure to another. A procedure is described to manually or automatically adjust the head pressure of the primary column and the (effective) secondary column length to compensate for the two-dimensional retention time differences.

  • Publication number: 20100267068
Abstract: Process for determination of a drug or medicament or their metabolites in a (body) fluid or an extract of (body) tissue or (body) sample comprising the steps: (i) optionally treatment of the fluid or sample extract with at least one enzyme, (ii) contacting at least a first part of the fluid or extract with at least one first solid phase able to adsorb or absorb organic compounds out of the fluid or extract, and/or (iii) contacting at least a second part of the fluid or extract with at least one second phase, able to extract or adsorb organic compounds out of the fluid or extract, and/or (iv) optionally contacting at least a third part of the fluid or extract with a liquid phase able to extract organic compounds out of the fluid or extract, and/or (v) desorbing the compound(s) bound to the first solid phase by applying heat to the solid phase and/or by solvent extraction, optionally followed by evaporating the solvent at least partially, (vi) optionally extracting or desorbing the compound(s) contained in or b
