    Abstract: A method of transferring encoded data and an imaging device executing the method thereof are disclosed. The method of processing an image signal in accordance with the present invention extracts valid data only from image data encoded and sequentially inputted by an encoding unit, and sequentially outputs the valid data to a receiving part, and, in case the valid data finish outputting before coming to an end of a predetermined duration, outputs dummy data to the receiving part for a remaining time of the predetermined duration. Therefore, it becomes possible to increase the process efficiency of the back-end chip and to reduce the power consumption.

    Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method and an apparatus for compensating for a black level of an image sensor. The apparatus for compensating for a black level comprises: an optical black area detecting unit, detecting a pixel located in an optical black area, the pixel being among a digital image signal received from the sensor unit; a pixel data analyzing unit, summing pixel data of the pixel detected by the optical black area detecting unit to a pixel data sum; and a compensated data generating unit, generating compensated pixel data corresponding to the pixel data through a matching graph generated using a normalized value. With the present invention, the black level caused by a dark current can be compensated, and the noise caused by a dark current can be removed, while maintaining the dynamic range.

    Abstract: The present invention is related to a method and an apparatus for processing a dead pixel, more specifically to a method and an apparatus thereof for detecting and compensating a dead pixel that can maintain a good image quality by reducing image distortion and deterioration. With the present invention, the distortion of an image, caused by erroneously classifying a normal pixel of an inputted image as a dead pixel, is significantly reduced, thereby improving the quality of a processed image. Moreover, based on the characteristics of the inputted image, the algorithm and accuracy of detecting a dead pixel can be adjusted.
