Patent number: 7483399Abstract: Explicit routing of network traffic over RPR rings using MPLS signaling techniques, including unnumbered links. A modified LSP_TUNNEL_INTERFACE_ID object is provided with a RPR IP address instead of the conventional LSR Router ID, and with a direction indicator in place of the conventional interface ID. A novel subobject is included in the ERO and RRO, which holds the RPR IP address of the sending node in place of the conventional router ID, and a direction indicator in place of the conventional interface ID. The network nodes inspect the directional indicator that is received in a path message or a Resv message to determine the direction in which traffic is to be sent and received in an explicit route.Type: GrantFiled: February 20, 2003Date of Patent: January 27, 2009Inventors: David Zelig, Leon Bruckman, Yoav Kotser

Patent number: 7283465Abstract: A data communication network includes a plurality of primary virtual bridges, interconnected by primary virtual connections so as to transmit and receive data packets over the network to and from edge devices connected thereto. One or more backup virtual bridges, each associated with at least one of the primary virtual bridges, are connected by at least one secondary virtual connection to at least another one of the primary virtual bridges, so that upon a failure of one of the primary virtual bridges with which it is associated, the backup virtual bridge transmits and receives the data packets over the network via the at least one secondary virtual connection in place of the at least one of the primary virtual bridges.Type: GrantFiled: January 7, 2003Date of Patent: October 16, 2007Assignee: Corrigent Systems Ltd.Inventors: David Zelig, Leon Bruckman, Yoav Kotser

Patent number: 7127523Abstract: A method for controlling a system of label-switched tunnels through a communication network, the method including pushing a signaling label onto a signaling frame at a first node in the network, and sending the signaling frame through the label-switched tunnels to one or more recipient nodes in the network. The signaling label is popped off the signaling frame at the one or more recipient nodes, which responsive to the signaling label, process the signaling frame so as to eliminate loops formed by the label-switched tunnels.Type: GrantFiled: January 25, 2002Date of Patent: October 24, 2006Assignee: Corrigent Systems Ltd.Inventor: Yoav Kotser

Patent number: 6785232Abstract: A method for controlling data transmission over a network includes receiving a succession of data packets from a packet input at a potentially variable input rate, each packet in the succession potentially having a respective, non-uniform packet size. For each of the packets in the succession, the respective packet size is compared to a transmission credit allocated to the input. If the allocated credit is sufficient, compared to the respective packet size, the packet is transmitted over the network at a peak transmission rate predetermined by the network. If the allocated credit is insufficient, compared to the respective size, at least a portion of the packet is transmitted over the network at a rate no greater than a sustainable transmission rate predetermined by the network, which sustainable transmission rate is less than the peak transmission rate.Type: GrantFiled: November 27, 2000Date of Patent: August 31, 2004Assignee: Orckit Communications Ltd.Inventors: Yoav Kotser, Omer Goldfisher

Publication number: 20020110087Abstract: A method for establishing a data link service connection for a bi-directional service to be provided between first and second nodes through a network. Responsive to a request to initiate the service connection, a local index is generated at the first node indicative of the service to be provided, and a first signaling message is sent to the second node containing the index from the first node and service parameters of both of the nodes. Upon receiving the message at the second node, the service connection is initiated responsive to the index and the service parameters. A second signaling message is sent to the first node, and the service indicated by the index is activated.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 23, 2001Publication date: August 15, 2002Inventors: David Zelig, Yoav Kotser
