  • Patent number: 7711497
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of identifying calcium binding sites in gamma-crystallin useful in calcium-based homeostasis for the management of Cataract, said method comprising steps of isolating gamma-crystallin from eye lens, studying binding of calcium to the isolated protein by both direct and indirect methods, identifying Greek key Motif as calcium-binding sites of the protein gamma crystallin with the said protein binding 4-mol eq of calcium having dissociation constant of 90 micromole.

  • Publication number: 20070213171
Abstract: The present technique, in accordance with certain embodiments, provides a novel gearing assembly. The exemplary assembly includes a planetary or epicyclic gear set that provides the final gear reductions from the output shaft. Specifically, the use of a planetary gear set for final reduction transfers rotation and torque to four planet gears, for instance, which drive a carrier assemblies that, in turn, causes rotation of the output shaft. Advantageously, such an assembly can provide high torque-levels (e.g., 300,000 inch-pounds) via a relatively small-sized device.

  • Publication number: 20070151901
Abstract: The present invention provides a process for oxidative desulphurization of liquid hydrocarbon fuels, such as diesel fuel, gasoline, jet fuel, fuel oils, coal liquids and similar petroleum products to ultra low sulphur hydrocarbon fuels with sulphur content less than 10 ppm. In this process, the sulfur compounds present in hydrocarbon fuel are first oxidised to more polar sulphones/sulphoxides and then removed by solvent extraction with NMP containing antisolvent followed by final polishing by passing through adsorption column.

  • Publication number: 20060174161
Abstract: A common viewer framework simplifies the viewer development process and significantly reduces the development time and cost of viewer development. Based on this framework, viewers for different hardware devices are developed according to a common application programming interface (API) and operate as plug-ins to a common viewer tool. Also, the API may be provided as part of a software development kit (SDK) to the maker of the hardware device to be viewed, so that the task of developing viewers can be delegated to the individuals with special knowledge of the hardware devices.

  • Publication number: 20060067598
Abstract: In accordance with one embodiment, a system and device are disclosed for preventing damage to one or more shims of a rotating machine. The system incorporates an anti-rotation spacing device that fits within a bearing bore or recess between the one or more shims and a bearing assembly. The anti-rotation spacing device prevents the rotation of the bearing assembly from damaging the one or more shims present within the recess. In an exemplary embodiment, the device comprises a generally annular structure or body and an anti-rotation feature. A method for protecting shims within a bearing bore and method of manufacturing an anti-rotation spacing device are also disclosed.
