  • Publication number: 20200407387
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a process for preparing a transition metal-Schiff base imine ligand complex. The process involves direct chelation of a Schiff base imine ligand by adding a transition metal halide in a halogenated fluid medium at a temperature in the range of 20° C. to 40° C. The process employs less hazardous reagents and mild reaction conditions to obtain the complex. The complex is efficient to be used as a catalyst for the production of disentangled ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene.
