Abstract: Recording indicators for devices with cameras that provide protection from tampering so that the recording indicators cannot be easily disabled or masked. Recording indicators that are integrated in a device's camera and that emit visible light through the camera lens aperture are described. In addition, modular accessories are described that the user has to attach to the device to enable recording; the presence of the modular attachment indicates to persons in the environment that they may be being recorded.

The device may process captured frames to detect the encrypted pattern; if the encrypted pattern cannot be detected, recording is disabled. In addition, modular accessories are described that the user has to attach to the device to enable recording; the presence of the modular attachment indicates to persons in the environment that they may be being recorded.

Abstract: Various implementations disclosed herein include devices, systems, and methods that dynamically-size zones used in foveated rendering of content that includes text. In some implementations, this involves adjusting the size of a first zone, e.g., a foveated gaze zone (FGZ), based on the apparent size of text from a viewpoint. For example, a FGZ may be increased or decreased in width, height, diameter, or other size attribute based on determining an angle subtended by one or more individual glyphs of the text from the viewpoint. Various implementations disclosed herein include devices, systems, and methods that select a text-rendering algorithm based on a relationship between (a) the rendering resolution of a portion of an image corresponding to a part of a glyph and (b) the size that the part of the glyph will occupy in the image.

Abstract: In one implementation, a method includes: displaying simulated reality (SR) content; determining whether an object in a physical environment satisfies one or more interaction criteria; and changing display of the SR content from a first view to a second view, in response to determining that the object in the physical environment satisfies the one or more interaction criteria, wherein, in the first view, the object in the physical environment is occluded by the SR content, and wherein the second view reduces occlusion of the object in the physical environment by the SR content.

Abstract: Method, device, and storage medium for logging on to a network that provides a streaming service for content pertaining to video cameras located at customers' premises; attempting to receive streaming content from a video camera located at a customer's premises based on one of a request to open a port on a routing device located at the customer's premises or a request to open a pinhole on a routing device located at a location remote to the customer's premises; and determining whether a success or a failure occurred as to receiving the streaming content from the video camera located at the customer's premises.

Abstract: An approach for tagging media content (e.g., audio/video content) such that the tag call be used to access or manipulate the media content associated with the tag at a later time. A command is received from a user to request marking of the media content. A tag is automatically inserted therein based on predetermined criteria in response to the command. The media content can be accessed at a point specified by the tag.

Abstract: A method and system for administering calls on a voice network allows a user to selectively determine which calls will be accepted and assists the user in placing calls to other users on the network. The user may establish a list of users whose calls will be accepted and may also establish a list of users whose calls will not be accepted. The method and system may provide unwanted callers with an option to speak with the user for a fee. Users may establish “business card” headers, or profiles, which serve to identify the user to a called party. The user may also maintain profiles for received calls by using the “business card” header provided by the caller, or by inputting caller profiles. The method and system may also be used in conjunction with a scheduling system, such that calls amongst two or more users will be initiated at an agreed upon time.

The methods and systems may provide an initiator of the communication to accept the fee, to confirm acceptance of the fee and to provide payment information for the fee prior to completing the communication. If the initiator does not accept the fee, the communication can be terminated. The methods and systems may verify the payment information and display a verification notice to the user prior to completing the call. The fee to be paid and the method of payment, or payment information may be prescribed by the user.
