  • Patent number: 11964473
Abstract: A printing apparatus includes an image formation unit, a tray on which a medium is placed, a movement unit, and a control unit. The image formation unit includes a first head forming a first image and a second head forming a second image. The movement unit is provided so as to be capable of moving the tray to a first position at which the medium is placed and a second position serving as a reference position. The control unit switches between a first mode and a second mode. In the first mode, a starting position is moved to an image forming region, and the tray is not moved to the second position, and a movement direction is changed to form the first image and the second image. In the second mode, after the first image is formed, the tray is moved to the second position, and then the movement direction is changed to form the second image.

  • Publication number: 20230150285
Abstract: A recording device includes a recorder, a placement portion, an adjustment mechanism, a movement mechanism, a medium detector, an input portion, a notification portion, and storage. The recorder performs a positional information notification operation of causing the notification portion to notify positional information of the placement portion in a first direction based on identification information of a medium input by the input portion and correspondence information stored in the storage, and a detection result notification operation including moving the placement portion so that an entire region in the second direction of the placement portion passes through a detection position, causing the medium detector to detect whether the medium is located at a reference position during when the medium is passing through the detection position, and causing the notification portion to notify information based on a result of the detection by the medium detector.

  • Publication number: 20230140897
Abstract: A recording device includes a recorder, a placement portion, an adjustment mechanism, a movement mechanism, a medium detector, an input portion, and a notification portion. The recorder performs a first operation of moving the placement portion to a first position to cause at least a portion of the placement portion to be located at a detection position, causing the medium detector to detect, at the first position, whether or not the medium is at a reference position, and causing the notification portion to notify information based on a detection result of the medium detector, and a second operation of moving the placement portion to cause an entire region of the placement portion in a second direction to pass through the detection position, causing the medium detector to detect whether or not the medium is at the reference position while the medium is passing through the detection position, and causing the notification portion to notify the information based on the detection result of the medium detector.

  • Patent number: 10248070
Abstract: There is provided a transportation apparatus in which a first transportation unit, which transports a paper sheet from a mounting portion, starts transportation of a next paper sheet at a time when a specific time has elapsed after the second transportation unit, which is positioned on a downstream side of the first transportation unit, starts to transport a paper sheet so that an inter-sheet distance between a preceding paper sheet and a following paper sheet becomes optimal.

  • Patent number: 9527280
Abstract: For a lenticular in which a lens body having low shape accuracy is disposed on one end portion, when the other end portion of the lenticular is detected, a position of a carriage at the time of detecting the end portion of the lenticular is stored in a buffer as a paper end position, a carriage motor is controlled such that the carriage is separated from a home position and moved in a main scanning direction, and a printing head is controlled such that an ink discharge having a color according to printing data is started at the paper end position. Since the lens body having high shape accuracy is disposed on the end portion of the lenticular, it is possible to land the ink onto a more suitable position with respect to the lens body, thereby allowing printing quality to be improved.

  • Patent number: 9481170
Abstract: When printing is performed by discharging ink from a printing head onto a lenticular, a carriage motor is controlled such that a carriage is moved in a main scanning direction at a velocity which is slower than a movement velocity of the carriage at the time of performing a normal printing process with respect to a recording medium different from the lenticular as a recording paper and further separated from a home position, and the printing head is controlled such that an ink discharge having a color according to printing data is started with respect to an end portion of the lenticular, and thus the printing of one pass is started. Since the velocity is slower than the movement velocity of the carriage at the time of performing the normal printing process, it is possible to improve printing quality at the time of performing printing with respect to the lenticular.

  • Patent number: 9039123
Abstract: A sheet is transported at a first transport speed when a rear edge of the sheet is on a platen during transporting of the sheet to a reversing mechanism according to a sheet returning process after completing printing on a front surface, and the sheet is transported at a second transport speed which is faster than the first transport speed when the rear edge of the sheet passes over the platen until the rear edge of the sheet is nipped by a transport roller. Due to this, it is possible to smoothly transport the sheet without the sheet being caught on the concave and convex section of the platen and it is possible to transport the sheet quickly to the transport roller when the rear edge of the sheet passes the platen.
